OWL BEAR EGG???

its my first run i got the owl bear egg after the goblins killed the mother and have her baby as pet. i know the egg has to be worth somthing more special then the money. i looked up there is a quest you can cheat/skip but that still feels kinda cheap like i wonder is there more to the egg then that? like will it eventually hatch chapters later and i can has 2 owl bears??????

As far as I've seen/heard, the egg can be used at the Gith Creche area as an alternative solution for a quest....and that's it.

It's free money, a meal, or a quest solution, as far as I'm aware.


EDIT: Also, we already get access to an actual owlbear cub so it's not like the egg will fill that role either.

Not gonna lie, when I steal the egg, I get real anxious when auto choosing camp supplies, since the egg is counted among your available food.

Along the way to the Githyanki Cresche, there is a woman named Esther who is trying to steal a Githyanki egg as part of a... 'social experiment'...

If you pass a difficult speech check, you can convince her to use the Owlbear Egg instead.

ya thats as much as i know but i was just curious if there was more too it. like an even bigger reward/solution.

in a single player campaign money aint really an issue being i just save and steal the shop owners ♥♥♥♥ and money with no real issue other then the headache of reloading the same save file.

It will change some things up in Act 3 depending on which egg you sell to Esther.

Yes. Though they do nothing unless used in the quest. Make sure you wanna give her the egg though. Without spoiling much, it's a pretty.....irreversible outcome.

It does change up quite a lot depending on which egg you give. The quest itself should give you a hint to what will happen if you sell her the Gith egg.

Iirc, the same ending regardless of what egg you give. The difference is IF you give an egg.

Both are irreversible, and there could be an added complication from the Owlbear Egg: I've seen a claim where you don't get a certain (obvious) ally at the end if you do the Owlbear egg instead. Not confirmed though...

However, if when you steal the Gith Egg (also make sure you start the Q without Lae'zel so no difficult persuades to do), then give it to Lae'zel afterwards, then she keeps it in her pack the whole way through, there's another minor change at the epilogue party...
