Which route? Spoilers
So which route through shadowlands more interesting in your opinion? Once you enter from mountain path or underdark? Im not talking about mp or underdark themselves just different points of entry in shadowlands

You can do both.

Yea, but i think plot is a bit different depending on entry, no?

Both is the correct answer; but if I had to pick one then Underdark is way more fun and engaging. Halsin implies that the Underdark is the safer route, but it's definitely not which means you'll get up to more quests and earn more XP in the Underdark than you ever could with mountain pass. What I do (and see recommended most often) is to do the entirety of the Underdark and Grymforge, then instead of taking the elevator up you fast travel back to Blighted Village and take the Mountain Pass.

No. Not at all.

They are both fine. The Mountain Path pushes you faster to the moonlight towers because they get a Convoi and the Underdark entry is a faster way to the Last Light inn because you get introduced to the Harpers earlier.
They don't change much of what you can do and you can even do both (underdark and mountain pass) if you want.

I was speaking about shadowlands plot depending on which entry you take, not act 1 zones themselves. I did both underdark and path, yes. Both very cool.

Oh cool, thats what i was looking for, ty. So the general idea is not to go into towers and explore shadowlands no matter the entry

Underdark elevator puts you in the middle of nowhere, right? Surrounded by darkness and running for your life.

I went in through the mountain pass, which just felt right to me. A little safer, putting me at a more "venture forth!" position. Plus I sided with the Goblins and it put me closer to where I wanted to be, however that caused me to be led across the entire map, which triggered my "exploring neatly" OCD as I cut a swathe through the FOW instead of cleaning it piece by piece, lol. A minor gripe I guess.

For me, progression in Act 1 goes like Grove Map > Underdark > Mountain Pass > Grymforge > Shadowlands via Mountain Pass

You still do all of the content, but then you come out on a more advantageous position, I'd say. I didn't explore much and I forgot exactly where you come out when you use the Grymforge elevator, but I remember my friend going that route himself and he ended up in a whole heap of trouble, lol.

So for me I'd say going into the Shadow Lands via the Mountain Pass after dealing with everything you can possibly do in Act 1 is the way.

They are not really different plots imo. They pretty much do the same Thing, getting you to a Safespace to work from. And it doesn't matter where you start for that regard, you can do both.

I already did the whole underdark part after I killed all goblins, so I went mountain pass with a pitstop at the creche. well not exaclty a pitstop but it was pretty fun.

You can explore the Shadowlands no matter the entry, that's correct.
But you should definetly get to visit the towers before you follow the main plot. Don't be afraid. You are considered a "True soul" afterall :)
You may possibly miss a few very interesting Interactions if you wait to visit the Towers until a certain point.

So the main difference there is that if you enter through underdark and enter harper hangout, you are unable to visit cultist camp. So i have a question, if you do that and kill all harpers BEFORE ambush, how do you get moonlantern? XD
OnlyOffensive Sep 8, 2023 @ 3:01pm
So if you miss ambush opportunity the only way is just go to tower through enviromental damage?
