Larian, either implement proper third person camera, or stop breaking mods. Thanks
Just saying. The default ingame camera is horribly restricted, controller deadzone is horrible, default sensitivity that cannot be changed is horrible. Meanwhile Native Camera Tweaks mod fixes all of these issues, but understandably it gets broken with every hotfix. You guys really need to just implement it officially.

The problem is the design choice they made.
In many games you might be used to play, camera is rigged to the character as part of it. Then you have distance, angle and circling motions. The camera is as if it is bound to the character by a extensible "self stick".
To implement a notion that your camera cannot go where your character cant see, Larian decided to use a "phantom entity" that carries the camera and moves as if a character were "carrying it". That would be a wise way of preventing you from using camera to see what you shouldnt, or skip parts of gameplay by knowing things you did not got to trigger by being there.
The problem is that it is badly implemented, like many things in this game, and as you move your camera, you dont really know where this phantom entity is unless you were able to track the "movement" like a machine. So sometimes that phantom entity is actually facing a wall, down a hole, or simply in the wrong place in relation your character, so you cant move the camera properly.
The would be easy to spot should the devs had tested it "not being them", which would be the Early Access function.
Problem is a lot of people had been complaining about the camera for the whole EA, and they never changed or corrected they design choice.

First time in the modding community?
Do you understand how mods work?
Do you understand how patching and game design work?

Your request comes from a place of ignorance.

The camera has been changed over the course of the EA. It was much worse at the beginning.

Useless comment that implies that OP does not understand things, but does not explain anything. I suggest OP directly block this guy.

Why are you offended by being called ignorant?

It's the opposite of aware. Only God is omnipotent. It is okay to not know..

Also,, keep it simple silly, kiss. I would divulge more information on request, not on immediate first reply..

I assume you're trolling, because you don't even own this game,, but it doesn't hurt to practice netiquet and be respectful.

I write "understandably it gets broken with every hotfix" and you write this nonsense? Can you read? I know fully well that it is normal that updates break mods. Hence the word understandably. Work on your reading comprehension before you insult others. My point was that Larian should implement this themselves, so we do not need to rely on mod in the first place.
Larian's camera sucks and they know it - we've been yelling at them about it for three years.

I really hoped that in those three years of early access they would implement proper third person cam, their choices for this are so strange. Not just the restrictiveness, but also the controller sensitivity and deadzone - the game just actively plays much, much worse vanilla than with the mod.

Where did I insult you?
You insult me by saying I have bad reading comprehension.

My point is that they shouldn't. If you disagree with me, that's okay, disagreeing with someone is not a personal attack against them.
Ignorance is normal, you're not omnipotent, it has nothing to do with intelligence, all ignorance is, is not knowing, how is that an insult to you?

I accept your apology for insulting me.

Now, should arguments are rarely productive, and it honestly feels that you're using this outlet to complain more than seek resolution, which is fine, but I stress my questions again, because I think you're capable of critical thinking and coming up to a reason why we have to resort to mods in the first place.

Please always try to be respectful and take the most charitable interpretation of text because tone is absent and that's 90% of communication.

You insulted me by acting like I was ignorant and by being a condescending pr ick. Again, I know very well that updates break mods. And wrote as such. So keep your high and mighty nonsense.
You will get zero apology when you are the one who should apologize.

Too late, you already apologized.

I WILL say sorry that you feel im being condensending. I'm not. How you interpret a post is clearly on you.

If you are in a negative headapace, you will read text negatively. If you are in a positive headspace, you will read text positively.

You shouldn't feel less than someone else, we're all equal here, but I'm not your therapist to help you work on self esteem issues.

Good luck put there, and again, thank you for the apology, and admitting that your anger is displaced and based on a miscommunication, it means a lot :)
