I see a lot of counter play possibilities, even more in a 4v4 situation
Get initiative > kill opponent in 1 turn or stun him until you finish him off.
High constitution and high initiative and every other stat will be at minimum.
Classes with stealth will have huge advantages while classes like warrior/ barbarian that are more straightforward will be slaughtered before even being able to make a move .

They need to completely redo all skills, spells, feats, the way CC works , items, the way stealth and invisibility works, pretty much everything.
May as well just make another game that’s for pvp lol
Simply no. Not every game needs PvP, especially if the game can have builds that are INCREDIBLY broken.

Outside of mods I wouldn't get your hopes up for more than this when it comes to PVP.
I would have no interest in said mod. But who cares if it existed? If you don't want it don't download and install it. Simple
And that's not even taking into account Action economy and initiative tend to be king in 5e by default, which is also broken in BG3 (getting 5-8 attacks and doing at least 150 damage in one turn is insane).
Only extremely OP builds that focus on 1-3 turns burst damage would ever be viable in such a PVP arena. Only fix would be excessive item/build bans, or if Larian balanced a lot of the systems, which I don' think they'd do.
there are mages that can deal like 1000 dmg per turn
monks can teleport (attack 5-8 times)and deal like 500 dmg + varient too stun per turn
fighter with 7 atks per turn
paladin just op
you need to balance the whole game new only for pvp
in divinity 2 there is a arena mode with origin characters
That said, I think a real ranked pvp mode would be silly.
I didnt actually know div2 had a PVP arena, well, so that is already an idea Larian explored,
means its not a bad idea, it just need to be thought for pvp,
of course it would be unbalanced, bg3 wasnt made thinking on pvp i think, and even games that are exclusively pvp, have to be balanced constantly, it is impossible to have a completely balanced game with so many character builds
well, 1 dominate person and all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is throw back at your ass, again, on this same topic i saw, 10 different instakill builds people mentioned
a lot of these 1000 damage stuff, needs to be setup out of combat in the game, with skills and elixirs, which you wouldnt have on this idea
