Nah you just need to fix your skill issue. :3
Yes throwing a healing potion makes it broken. Thats the entire point of hrowing it. :3
also healing is pretty effective with me so far
If you think the existence of trenches is a counter argument to the established and extensive value of high ground in warfare , then you wildly misunderstand the usage of trenches, and should probably cease speaking when it comes to the subject of warfare.
A properly build & outfitted Shadowheart will bring a nearly downed party back to full health including additional buffs (temp hitpoints, protection, bless) in one round. The OotA paladin can bring a single party member back to the fight pretty fast as well - and having a strong aoe heal divided into two turns as well.
Equipment you never should sell / always give your healer (life domain cleric, obviously):
tl;dr the healing issue is one of proportion, not totality.
And I'm totally okay with them nerfing yo-yo healing in favor of this approach.
Use beacon of hope when you think its going to get tough and all your heals will be maxed out and then some from all the other bonus' like extra hps when you heal, blade ward, heal yourself for extra when you heal others and even more items. Beacon of hope also gives team bonus on wis saving throws i think.
my guess is you specced your cleric for damage spells, which is fine if you are better with your tactics etc
That's because 5thE D&D de-emphasized healing as a role.
With BG3's itemization, and as an Oath of the Ancients Paladin/Life Cleric multiclass, you can get close to old school "healer".
Most people, however, find it easier to skip healing and just kill faster. Killing your opponent before they damage you in the first place is more effective than healing because you need to kill them anyway. If you are trading dpr/alpha for healing, you're just prolonging the fight, and it's often a losing proposition since the math is against you.
Damage mitigation (high AC, damage resistance, temp hp/shields) > healing.
for healing potion>all (the high level heal that heals for like 70 is somewhat useful)
in general damage = king. kill fast you wont need heals :)
