Getting error when trying to connect to my friend's game
The error says "Connection failed: Mod 'GustavDev' and/or it's dependencies don't match the servers. This can be caused by corrupt files or files that have changed."

The only "mod" i've installed is lSlib which Vortex recommends installation of. I've tried removing it completley and validating my game files, but I am still having this issue. Anyone know a solution without just reinstalling the game?

I have no mods and still got this error... tried everything... it's just the patch they released yesterday.

I haven't had a corrupt / mismatched data file error since EA, but the only solution I found to resolving it was to do a complete and total reinstall of the game.

And simply uninstalling the game from Steam does not delete all the files. You have to sift through your computer and manually delete the folder / files related to BG3.

Just to be extra certain I got everything wiped, I even deleted the Larian Launcher folder, which was reinstalled along with BG3.

After doing all of that, and flushing my recycle bin, it seemed to finally clear up any corrupted files which were caused due to problems with any big patches.

RevoUninstaller advanced options makes that easy peasy.

If you tried everything, then lean back and enjoy.

Vortex is an issue in itself, often enough. In doubt, consult the mod author.

Friend had this error earlier. It's because they didn't download the new update.

It turns out it was not an issue on my end, my friend has the GOG version and it was his game that had the issue

It's annoying, I've had this problem too since the morning update on August 27th. We have tried the following methods: remove the hot patch, or remove patch 1, but all prompt this message, has been troubled for a day.

У меня была такая же проблема, мне помогло только полное очищение файлов Larian с моего устройства и переустановка игры, эта ошибка происходит при использовании Vortex, рекомендую использовать другой менеджер модов, с ним такой ошибки не возникало)

This error is most likely related to the modsettings.lsx file. To correct this, the file needs to be removed from the folder. You can either save it somewhere, rename it, or simply delete it.

To get there:

Open explorer and put %localappdata% into the address bar and execute it. From there, navigate to:

\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public

The modsettings.lsx file is in the Public directory. Once deleted, renamed, or moved out, the game will recreate the proper one when it is started. Note that the Launcher will not recreate it; the game itself will do so.

All involved must have no mods and also follow this process or there will be a mismatch.

Good Luck
