Ogre Horn Question

What are the best encounters to use it on in Act 1? I've beaten the Phase Spider Matriarch. I've heard the Githyanki are the hardest fight. I still have the spider egg as well.

Githyanki Patrol, Spectator, Duergar (beach), Nere, Dror Ragzlin, Risen Road Gnolls (leader encounter, not dying hyenas encounter) would all be fine choices. If you never end up needing it just summon them to kill them. Grymforge workshop boss is just a puzzle not a real fight so no need.

Gith creche fight, gnoll fight, bulete fight, and nere fight, honestly I forget to use it half the time.

Gith are easy as hell, I never end up using it just save it as curio. And note I killed them to obtain it so it probably won't summon anyone if I use

I suppose if u really need a place to use it is Underdark Duegar fight, Nere and pre group fight, or if you want to take down the whole Mushroom Colony

Matriarch can be killed in a single eldritch blast so I prefer to use it on the gnolls and the goblin camp to speed things up

I saved it for Act III until I first blew into it.

It had a nice sound to it.

That's about it.

The answer is probably whatever awkward fight you need to get past to get to level 5. That probably depends on your group makeup and what you have decided to do for various big areas. Some options include any of the major underdark fights, defending the grove #2 if you baited the attack and tricked minthra, sacking the goblin city (inside or out, either one could be fun to watch the ogres play), etc. Any of the tuned over level 5 encounters are going to make short work of them: even 1 druegar is probably a match for one ogre so at best they are a distraction that late in the game.

There arent really all that many fights that need the dps, to be honest.

I used it on the grymforge boss because i wanted the acheivement and needed the extra bodies about half way through when people started hurting bad.

Nere isn't a very good time. They seem to spawn down the hall and can pick up more npcs than necessary.

Better to kill the ogres anyway cause you get a 17 int crown.
