Just like in real life, everyone is the same. There are no differences. That's why diversity is a strength.
WoTC/5e got rid of that eugenics program.
I understand your brain rationalizes it with the old, but you're also indoctrinated because that's all you know. Until you're 45, it's easy to retrain the brain to learn something new.
Best thing you can do is suck it up and adapt to the new ways.
If you cannot, there's plenty of Pathfinder an doldschool DnD games out there for you to play.
Perhaps maybe a mod for bg3 will be made, who knows.
The rest of the radials give distinction, but forcing the Dwatf to have +Con and +Str just means people didn't play Dwarf Rogues, Clerics, Bards, etc.
And maybe also change the bonus Weapon and Armor Proficiencies for something else, those tend to go to elves, dwarves and such because they are associated with certain types of weapons, like elves with a Longbow. Humans have so many varied cultures that it doesn't really work to represent all of them.
Seriously, the human abilities are underwhelming compared to the others, even in comparison to Half-Elves who share half of them.
The carrying capacity doesn't even fit, that seems more like something the dwarves would have.
that said, it's better for gameplay to let players freely assign stats, it lets people play the races they want and not be constrained by stat bonuses that make their race/class combo "bad"
though I believe dwarves are actually nerfed because of this, one of their subraces get +2con/+2str, now they get the standard +1/+2., humans too with the +1 to all/bonus feat
I thought gamers liked options.
