Aasimar are at the very very top of my race wishlist too. They have always been my favorite race.
Maybe if we get a definitive edition and/or expansions, idk. One can hope.
In regular 5e they also come with features that sets them apart visually to other races, so they should have just as much reactivity as other uncommon races.
They do come with some features, most descriptions from 5e sources are very vague and will mention minor differences or faint differences, perhaps a slight glow to their hair and/or eyes. The main thing is that they are beautiful and often taller than average. The differences aren't really enough to be super noticeable from what I can tell, aasimar are so rare that most wouldn't even consider it.
The one we saw in the game does not look like what an Aasimar normally would be expected to look like, her hair, skin and eyes were completely human, unless her eyes are kinda golden? I can't really tell. The only things setting her apart are her wings which other aasimar does not have permanently, they have an ability that allows for incorporeal temporary wings to appear, they only last one minute before they disappear again while her wings were permanent and a part of her body, I'd assume a gift from her mother or due to her direct lineage? Her scars are unique, but I believe those are scars due to being tortured from a century by people using magic, I could be wrong about that though, but again that's not something I have ever heard of as a part of an aasimar description and is really unique to her.
