also i cannot seem to counterspell his dimension door.
i'm playing warlock and i have 5th level spells. it also ignores silence, i can't use hold person because he never rolls lower than 16.
i really really hate this fight
edit: got so sick of this i used a potion of speed and hit him twice with flame strike and did exactly enough damage to kill him. which was 30 damage.
on 2 flame strikes
I counterspell his foolish ass with both Wyll and Gale in my party and smote him dead with my hasted vengeance pally.
Still had to reload the save I made before the fight more than once but he was dead in the end.
♥♥♥♥ that dwarf
Thing I noticed was that the best saving throw to target on him is strength.
My Karlach had a leap ability that could make him prone vs strength. It succeeded, so after he was prone we just went to town on him.
The Dimension Door spam sucks, and counterspell casters tend to get paralyzed immediately in that fight, so it's incredibly frustrating. But the thing that I think sends frustration into orbit is his potions as a free action.
There's another factor I never quite figured out, where it'd keep suddenly switching over to him taking actions when I hadn't finished my own actions. I'm still confused what that was.
Being able to place an AE without tagging anyone and having counterspell helps. But also having your main damage dealer drink a speed potion and just start slamming is pretty good too.
