Getting Real Hard To Resist Dark Urge
https://youtu.be/ux_Rp0zNxjo

2:37 - "I would kill everyone at the first opportunity, so that I don't have to deal with them." - MOOD!

When it comes to RPG's that give players the freedom to do so, I always, always go for the evil route on my first play through. However, prior to this character reveal, I had decided I wanted to play Astarion as my first character. Not because I'm overly fond of him as a character, but specifically because of the fact he was a vampire (spawn), and I want to see how that story plays out.

The reason why I wanted him to be the MC, is because I don't want to have to jump through a bunch of metaphorical hoops trying to convince him to open up to me, and felt like playing from his perspective would make things easier.

But this news about The Dark Urge is making me sorely tempted to change my plans for a first play through. I've always wanted to play a vampire in D&D, for literal decades now, and I at long last finally have that opportunity in front of me. But now there are two options in the game which offer me a chance to slake my 'blood lust' and I don't know who to go with!

Why do you think that all these actions that Sven Vincke did during the show and that are shown in the videos are the "evil route"?

Duh. You are agreeing with my statement? Sure, the rewards for doing so may be the most powerful.

And on the subject earlier," is it possible to fully resist the Dark Urge? ", I carefully watched that part of the PFH presentation about the Dark Urge and never once got the impression that trying to do so would mean the Evil side of the Dark Urge will take full control.

In fact, they even said, the player can resist those urges, without suggesting it was impossible to always do it when given a choice. If I missed a point, please provide a link where I did in the PFH. presentation.

This is one YouTube video I watched and he does not suggest you can not fully resist the evil urge.

From what I have read you can resist the Urge, but every time you do so the next time it becomes harder so you can never resist indefinitely. I think when you do give in then the difficultly resets.

Get ready for a “save scum and resist all Dark Urge temptations playthrough.”

I wonder if it’ll be even possible to resist every temptation?

And now what should this hero "swear/oath" and block forever in his heart, head, soul impulse to do evil in the Lord (Bible).

Can somebody please explain to this guy that the 'satanic panic' around D&D ended back in the 80's?

At the PFH, all that said was, "yes the player can resist the Dark Urges." There is no indication it is impossible to keep resisting.

You only hear what you want to hear. Okay then. Guess you'll just have to play the full game and see.

Matthew 21:12-14

if D&D taught me how to perform actual magic, I would be using it for a lot more productive things than playing a table top board game.

Wasn't it stated in the Panel From Hell that the urge would get more difficult to resist, the longer you denied it?

No, because they stay dead in the Dark Urge story.
