This is not a BG game at all

As I guessed, most negative reviews state that this is not a BG game. This a great DOS game but it is not a BG game at all.
I ll buy it and play it but I am really disappointed at abusing the BG franchise name. Making a game and using a name was not really meant for it is really disappointing 😨

Legit question here. What exactly is a BG Game? I've played neither BG1 or 2, so I am curious on what exactly define a BG Game?

If you were hoping BG3 to look similar like old BG games did, then play Pillar of Eternity. Its as far as I know the closest game that has similar pixel to it as old BG Games.

As for it not being a BG Game, depend on what does that even mean.

BG1&2 are classic, but that was years ago. Things changes. Engines changes, peoples grow olders and changes.

We can't stay stuck in Nostalgia forever...

BG3 is not a DOS game thought. It feel more like a Mix of both games.

This game is nothing like the Divinity Original Sin games so you're wrong there. It's a fairly faithful adaptation of the 5th edition ruleset and the only complaint some people seem to have is that it's turn-based instead of RTwP, which was always an awful system.

For what reasons? I even heard the one "it's not BG because it's turn based" lmao or because it's "woke" or other silly reasons.
Maybe refrain to say they "abuse" the franchise till after you actually played the full version yourself, not blindly believe the words of salty people.
If after playing the game you have the same opinion, well at least it's yours.

Real time with pause does not a Baldur's Gate game make. If you disagree then it is you who doesn't know what makes a BG game. It is the setting, story, and characters. They could do a game in the vein of Skyrim and if it had the BG setting and such it would be a BG game. That would be awesome btw.

Briefly neither story nor characters nor music nor lore nor atmosphere and nor many things have anything to do with the BG series.
It is still a great 👍🏻 just saying the game’s name is a mislead
