Strength is a dump stat

One thing I noticed in my playthroughs of EA is how incredibly good potions/elixirs are compared to tabletop. Instead of having a short duration, they last until you take a long rest.

Potion of Hill Giant strength sets your strength to 21. And since it lasts until a long rest, your strength could be 8 and it wouldn't matter. Merchants restock 3 potions of Hill Giant Strength per day, but you only need to use one to cover the entire day.

I usually build barbarians for DEX/CON anyways. With a rapier/shield they are fully strong in melee and get a crazy high AC too.

I mean...I always play either fullcasters or rogue/ranger....so strength has always been a dump stat for me...:P

You are losing out on the benefits of rage though, may as well almost not bother as the damage is decreased.

but if u are in the negatives doesnt it discount from your strength values? cause i remember wearing the intellect band with - in intellect and it reduced -1 intellect from the total score. Also -1 intellect from the investigate/arcane skill

If you are at -1, it gives you +4 to offset that, since it sets your int to a specific value (17)

Doesn't work in 5e, probably works in this EA build right now, though I imagine they'll change it

yes, I noticed this too. I still received a -1 to my character's intellect roll, despite wearing the crown.

I mean with the god stat that dex is, str was already subpar.

Depends on the gear selection.

Might BG3 be first CRPG in recent memory where full plate doesn't become utterly outclassed by naked builds and you don't get buried in + 2d6 elemental damage light magical weapons?
