Yes. Unfortunately, the origin cleric is Shadowheart, who is a Trickery cleric, and has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Strength, despite the fact that most Cleric weapons are strength based.
During my most recent attempt at this, my MC was a level 4 Human Berserker, wearing the +1 medium armor from the druid grove, wielding Zhalk's flaming greatsword, and they had 18 Strength, 16 Dexterity, 16 Constitution, 8 Intelligence (boosted to 17 from the crown), 8 Wisdom, 8 Charisma.
Basically, his only purpose in the party was to kill any enemy stupid enough to get within striking distance.
LMAO You are using her primarily as Melee and are getting mad about "most cleric weapons are str based" are you actually being serious right now? Nobody in their right mind uses an early game Cleric as a front line fighter.
If I recall correctly your plan was to use this? It is now very clear that you need to use this.
God I hope achievements get disabled for Story Mode.
I think you need to stop making assumptions about how I'm playing the game. All I said was she had ♥♥♥♥♥♥ strength, despite her weapons being strength focused.
Of course I'm trying to use her as a spell caster first and foremost. Unfortunately, spells tend to miss a lot, and there is a limited amount of times she can cast those spells before needing a long rest.
As a trickery cleric, her spells are primarily focused on stealth tactics. Which isn't really a viable option anymore since the patrol was buffed. I need a Life Cleric who can give my party some healing that's actually worth a damn, or a Light Cleric who has some actually decent offensive spells.
I was informed that there was a Scroll of Fireball located nearby, but when I went to dig it up, all I found was a scroll of some kind of feign death spell... which I'm almost certain is going to be totally useless against the Githyanki.
Who actually cares about achievements anyways?
I've complained about their level design for this for close to 3 years now. The fight is easy once you know how to play, the two problems are it's asanine that it can be essentially you're first fight, and it actually doesn't fit into the story/plot they are trying to tell, in the manner they currently "telling" it.
There really isn't a reason for your githy friend to be pushing you to get to that location. She knows what type of "cleansing" is in store.
Larian seems to think it's fine so.....
LOL So because she comes starting with a Mace she must be Strength Focused?
"I neEd HeAlInG DuRR" no, you need to give her a ranged weapon worth a damn and have her buff your main fighting characters and use them to help get Astarion into a good position to take advantage of his sneak attack damage (even giving him arrows that can inflict status effects is a good idea as well)
Actually use the games mechanics, not nerf an encounter because you can't play.
Then give her a crossbow, a dagger or a finesse weapon. Problem solved.
Invoke Duplicity on the battlefield, she'll be able to cast spells from the illusion as if she was standing there, and any allies right next to it will get a buff and enemies a debufff because of the nature of the illusion, use her spells to buff front-line fighters, heal from range, and take potshots with a crossbow with special ammo.
Trickery Clerics are also great at charming enemies, and duplicity is always useful even with the githyanki patrol being buffed.
I think that scroll changes but is always a scroll.
I don't think she does. If she knew that the cleansing involved killing our characters, then she wouldn't have tried to resist the patrol and would have instead simply presented her neck to the chopping block.
The way she describes the purification process to Wyll, makes it sound like the plan is to fry the tadpole with a surge of electricity being shot through our brains. Not necessarily lethal, but far from being a pleasant experience.
Okay, repeatedly starting your comments with 'LOL' and chastising me for not being a master strategist who finds enjoyment out of conquering absurd challenges is making me increasingly less interested in what you have to say on the matter.
I thought it was overtuned.
They buffed it even more?
Damm.
I hope i be level 5 when i encounter them.
Seems like i need a double fireball for this.
Yup. That one stopped being interesting at their first or second git-gud post.
Otherwise, interesting topic. I had to use a lot of meta knowledge in that battle which I find spoils immersion. *sits back again*
