So, About that Gale Bomb?
What implications does this have for the fast travel network, if The Dark Urge cuts off Gale's arm and leaves him trapped inside the waypoint portal, presumably bleeding out on an account of just having his arm amputated?

I've been told that if you kill Gale in early access right now, you get a game over 3 days later as his bomb explodes. But in this scenario, he's trapped in a pocket plane. Which you would think might be a good thing, if not for the fact that this pocket plane is how we're supposed to get around the map quicker.

I have no doubt that Gale will have done something like cauterize his arm to stop the bleeding and will show up again at some point.
After all, why let us keep his hand for the future?

"Hey man, looks like you need a hand."

Having your hand cut off is not necessarily lethal, especially for a dude made of magic. Gale probably just falls back to wherever he was coming from, minus his left hand.

Also you might want to spoiler this.

If the pocket plane's existence isn't conditional and is in fact a physical continuously existing place, for example a hallway of endless doors, I would imagine eventually finding bits of Gale scattered all over the place.

Oh that'd be awesome. Imagine if every time you fast traveled you had a random chance to find another piece of Gales corpse. Collect them all and you can take them to Withers for resurrection...

After 3 days, Gale explodes in the pocket dimension and his consciousness transfers to his severed hand which becomes magically animated. For the rest of the game you have it as a familiar. A magical floating arm that can push and throw things. A proper mage hand.

It was showcased in the last panel from Hell, and Gale's magical affliction has been revealed since day one of Early Access 3 years ago.

Not sure who or what I'm spoiling here?

Weirdly enough, you can still romance it.

Imagine getting rejected by your hand.

So does anyone have an update on this?

Nope. It is just implied that he is dead. You get his hand for some reason but even data mining has shown that there is no reason for it in relation to Gale. I just yeeted the hand into a lake.

Which is weird, because Elminster stated that Mystra is convinced Gale might be the only person capable of actually ending the threat of The Absolute.

So letting Gale die in some half formed pocket dimension, instead of doing something to save / resurrect him makes it sound like she's prepared to sit back and let The Absolute destroy / enslave everything.
