Same situation here. I thought perhaps a bug because I don't recall the hint of more to come after reading the book in EA but I get that now. I also have the Amulet that grants the same ability...
Quest continues in, you guessed it, Baldur's Gate proper. Try a Magic shop maybe
Later in Act 3, you find another book which teaches you how to safely read the tome, and should give you the power to summon 6 ghouls after passing a final skill check.
What has Larin done?!!
my draconian-sorcerer-bard had the option to "have the book reveal its nature", and then to calm the book. After the last check, it says the book is now "just parchments but the magic is gone" or something along the line. I still got the buff and speak to the dead.
Wonder if that makes any difference later on?
Hello guys someone know where is the faery book please i have the 3 others
How are you so short on gear by that point? Just give him a crappy green ring and he'll be fine. He only ever asks for three bits of gear
Did you end up seeing any difference? I did the same as a bard but I'm not sure if I want to reload :/
You'd be crazy to give him the book over some rubbish amulet or ring. I didn't even know it showed up as an option.
