Why not Kill Astorian? He's an irritating tool
I saved my game before Astorian tried to suck my blood at camp.

I find him to be the Jar Jar Binx of BG3. Apparantly, so does everyone else in my party, including Shadowheart, because there were no companion reactions when I killed him.

Now I never have to hear his annoying voice again. His in your face presence on the BG3 box art irritates me enough.

All that said, am I missing any cool gear from killing this idiot I could care less about missing out on his story, but when it comes to gear I might consider loading the save and letting him suck my blood.

It was really gratifying staking him though the heart though.

The problem with Astarian is, I am afraid to say, the actor playing him. He just plays Astarian as a prissy little queen whereas some actors, like Tim Curry of 'Rocky Horror' or Patrick Wyngard of 'Jason King' (check them out on youtube) , would have portrayed him as he was was meant to be - a smooth, witty and camp commentator, as opposed to a King's Road rent boy.

Honestly I have wanted to kill him since he tried to stab me when we first met. I actively hate everything about this character and only keep him around to see if his personal quest is worth it.

you can give him off to a vampire hunter by the hags teahouse. Its fun, hes in shock when you give him away.

Does the game give you ways to kill Gale to? I'm one magic item down and if he asks for one more item I am going to throw him in a volcano.

But, it can't be a fake death where his blue ghost comes out.

Is there a permanent way to end him?

I tried, but he can still be ressurected and the hooded skeleton in camp offers to ressurect him for 200 gold.

How do I send him where I sent Astarion.
From a roleplay point of view:
I let him drink my blood.
Even if he kills me my companions can just pay wither to ressurect me.
And i need him to be a strong fighter.
It also helps i dont hate vampire's.

I am pragmatic.
If i can make use of it i will.
If i cannot make use of it i wont.
Astorian is just hanging out at camp for 90% of the time.
Because rogue's are useless.
Yes i had bad experiances with rogue's why you ask?

For the most part i dont kill people unless they get in my way.
Astorian has done nothing to give me a reason to kill him.
I know enough about vampires to know how strong there bloodthird is.
I just wish he just drained our enemies instead of letting it come to this.
And his fear is understandable.
Very few people woudnt stake him for what he is.

If you really love playing the villain, keep Astarion around and have him go full on vampire at the end of his quest chain.

If my understanding is correct, and The Dark Urge is supposed to be even darker than... what I just made Astarion do... then that makes me very curious to give them a more in depth look.

Keep him alive just to sell him off later to the vampire hunter
Death is too kind for him

My problem with the companions so far is that they really make it hard to play a 'good' playthrough. They are petty, to say the least. And every camp dialogue is stressful because I could accidentally choose options that find myself fending off the advances of the males (player gender doesn't matter).

I enjoy the systems of the game. Even the homebrew is fun. I just don't like the character of the origin characters. But, maybe things change as we get into later acts. We shall see.

Kill off one of my main DPS and skeleton key? NEVER!

Maybe if I do another full playthrough.

I wouldn't consider Asterions 19-30 damage per round as thief and slightly less on assasin a main dps.

As usual with 5e, spellcasters rule and Gale/Halsin are a good replacement, they also got the knock spell and with the amount of lockpicks around, even Wyll can pick a lock or two.

So I didn't know he holds a knife to you. Perception seems to be a useful skill, and btw I love that skill checks can change how dialogues even start. But yeah, as soon as I woke up to him trying to bite me I kicked him out of the group. Almost staked him, and really as a vengeance paladin I should have. I was really conflicted about it.

Which is good? I just don't see keeping him around though in any playthroughs. If someone holds a knife to my throat in desperation because they think we're all going to turn at any moment? I can understand and respect that. That is a danger that passes. Vamp boy getting the urge and trying to suckle on me in my sleep? Yeah, that's not someone I would want around on any character.
