The biggest benefit of it is, that it works with the Jumping attack you get from Eagle Rage.
Save scumming is only for losers, or legit accidents (i.e. trying to click a moving target to talk to them and instead accidentally steal or attack something or along those kinds of lines). Imagine being some kind of loser who expect every single thing they attempt to go their way no matter what, while not having any of the skill or knowledge to back it up.
Some runs I saved the child from the harpies, easily, because the harpies' concentration rolls failed. However, some runs I never even go over there. Some runs, no matter how many times I smack the harpies, they keep succeeding on the concentration checks and the child dies. It's not worth save scumming over.
Thats what happens when you this cool.

"After a few playthroughs"
a playthrough of this game is 70-100 hours. Most people arent going to do a few playthroughs.
You can't save everyone, you can't be everyone's friend. It happens man
All the game is designed like that, you'll lose most of your first encounters because you have to use some tricks you only know after meeting them
Typical Larian PoS errm DoS design, and I hate it more and more
