Best way to make a Spellsword?

So, to be more specific, using 5E and this game's system, whats the "best" way to make a Spellsword in a style similar to the ones seen in 3E/3.5E? So basically Heavy Armor, good melee, and a good range of spells (like Wizard or Sorcerer).

Edit- to be more clear, I'm asking in terms of Multiclassing, not base Class, lol. Should have been more specific.

Eldritch Knight subclass is a spell casting fighter. You can mix in levels as a wizard if you want to be stronger as a spell caster.

well u need a sword and sum spells, get sum

Eldritch knight and arcane trickster are quarter casters, means they max out at like level 3. Warlocks especially a gith with a greatsword and false life invocation can be pretty nasty, cant remember if blade pact is in the game yet though.

War clerics might be able to do something similar, also feats. ranger has a heavy knight version where they can wear heavy armor and gets druid spells while having spells, but i think they are half casters?

basically you arent gonna get a perfect mix.
