Min-maxing and exploiting quicksaves sucks the fun out of it for me.
Failure can lead to a better story.
But to each their own.
Maybe later down the road for science - to see what would happen.
If I have 20 charisma and 3 different multipliers and I roll a 2... yea, Im gonna reload.
It's quite intersting to see how different things play out. In my current run I failed all options to ask Shadowheart about her religion, so she just told me herself when approval got quite high.
The game was written and designed to be played through. For that reason I can expect that the devs have solutions for when things go awry, like ending up in jail.
I never need to.
Between guidance, lucky and good stats i always rolled enough.
Now i will admit some save scumming knowledge role.
I will build the shadow wands myself.
I dont care how many times i have to reload to get a natural 20 because ♥♥♥♥ 30 dc skillcheck.
I find that the game is very anti magic.
But what else is new.
I havent played a D&D games where magic didnt suck since solasta.
"Would you like a cup of tea?"
...and I have an option for "No", but instead of just saying "No" my character stabs the lady in the eye, says "No" and then proceeds to burn down her entire house...I will reload and redo my choice.
For example right now meeting Halsing for the first time I didn't realize that I was forced to fight him as his enemy if I just wanted to leave the conversation with the Goblins without wanting to hurt Halsing.
