Guys please.. please add a text chat in multiplayer!!

I get that it is important to use voice chat in a game like this with a ton of strategy. However, this game isn't real time okay; it's turn based we should be able to communicate via text chat. What if I'm deaf, mute or cannot afford a mic? That makes this game 100% not enjoyable in multiplayer for friends with these problems. Also don't tell me about "using a second screen" or a "phone" to talk in multiplayer. There are public game servers in multiplayer on this game. How in the F*** are we supposed to know what is going on or what the host is doing in these games if we can't even F****** talk to them!? lol

Not to mention all the tens of thousands of roleplayers out there who would like to actually emote or write story as they play. Or the core D&D gamers who might like to strategise and communicate during gameplay.

Firing off a warning about a trap is entirely counter-productive from an User Experience point of view when you can't simply press, 'enter' but have to have some Discord or similar overlay slapped across the screen in the middle of a battle!

Totally agreed, I don't just second it, I would do more. That lack of feature just broke a party I got because of voice chat unavailability. The game sounds so good, but just that single missing feature breaks everything. Thank you to fix it as soon as possible.

Plus, even Foundry has a chat box while the main purpose is for logs. Still, I don't remember a single session where the chat box wasn't used just to send plain text if it was necessary.
Just to say it's simple mandatory for an online game. And yet, it's fully meant to be played with a voice chat along it.

It is kind of weird that there isn't any kind of chat. I assumed that was just for EA, but apparently that's what they're doing here.

On the plus side, their discord server is amazing and well supported so ultimately you'd be better off using it over trying to join random groups and getting kicked a dozen times by complete strangers anyway.

I usually don't like it when cooperative games don't include a default chat function, but I find that I don't really miss it here.

If you do not, then create your own discord and invite people off a forum post or some such. There is a subforum for that.

You can also use integrated Steam chat and voice chat, but that's not really my cup of tea.

Not saying they are perfect solutions or anything, but there are options even if you don't own the most common computer on the planet.

I have a friend who is hearing impaired, so voice chat is useless. The lack of text chat is a huge pain when we group play. We've resorted to using discord and alt-tabbing, but it's annoying as heck. This is a huge deficiency in the game. I'd only give the game 3/5 stars in a review, not having basic chat in a multiplayer capable game is a huge hit to the game.

but its only turn based in combat. and you can buy a cheap mic or even plug cheap headphones in and use them

I would call it laziness if the game wasnt so well designed.
