Hide Minimap?

What is this gigantic Minimap that destroys immersion and distracts / is in the way of the beautiful graphic? Any way to hide / disable the minimap without hiding the whole UI (F10)?

God I wish, playing on a TV and it takes up 1/3rd the height of the screen.

Yes please, the Maximap is truly immersion breaking!

I too would really appreciate it, if Larian would offer us a way to hide / close the minimap. It steals away the view and is immersion breaking for me as well.
I want to explore freely on the screen without any distraction.
