How do I delete my LARIAN CLOUD saves for the FIRST EA RELEASE?
That.

I have 1.6GB of undeletable saves from the very first EA release, they keep getting redownloaded when I launch.

https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15fswjv/deleting_cloud_saves_from_prior_patches/

That doesn't help at all.

Yeah no. This isn't true. At all. Tried it. *Sigh*

Good luck!

Damn. This thread is old. I even spotted my old guide here. It still works, though.

And yes, you can delete savegames locally and it should synchronise up correctly. But it will not apply for Early Access savegames which are not visible ingame. Not visible => not deletable.

If someone still experience that issue, use this:

I remember one player had to redownload those early access savegames again and again and was unable to delete them because it keeps synchronising at launch. They wanted to use the Steam Cloud, so it was an issue for them, having a significant amount of space being blocked that way. Hence the topic's relevance.

I am just surprised that there are still people out there who experience the issue. But as you can see: got you covered. :MHRISE_OK:

For me, I went through my PC and deleted not just BG3, but also the entire Larian folder, along with its launcher. The only other Larian game I have is DoS 2, which isn't even installed on this computer, so it wasn't a big loss for me.

Afterwards, I simply had to reinstall Baldur's Gate 2 again, and all my old cloud data got a fresh wipe.

I cannot see how BG2 is connected to Larian or BG3 these days...

The latest EA version uses a Public profile.

The original EA version created a profile MYUSERNAME_EA.

Every time my cloud saves are synced, the MYUSERNAME_EA profile and its saves are redownloaded by Steam, they are forever in the cloud and since you cannot delete directly from the cloud, I have no say over this.

I can go as far as making it so Steam knows the saves are Out Of Sync but it won't ask me to overwrite the cloud saves with local saves, it just downloads the profile again.

Yikes. You clearly did not read what I wrote then. Well, suit yourself.

Ok uhm i may have missed something because i did stop playing BG3 a few month after EA release but, what prevents you from starting a new game? The game does not force you to resume the old savegame right with launching the game like yyou can resume your game at launching stellaris, does it? So you would make the game to make a new save in the cloud then and even if the old stays there forever it will be ignored as soon as you started the new game, no?

I am pretty sure that is a question which might trigger threadstarter. You are absolutely right, though. The thing is: its still some space occupied on your harddisk which you seemingly cannot remove. And almost 2GB can be considered significant.

But then again, I have seen worse where one player had 8GB occupied by such bad save game mechanism. You would not know about it if you are not picky. Most players are not.

Once again, I just deleted my BG3 and Larian folders completely, and that seems to have resolved the issue of cloud data for me.

I had been having that glitch where it said the game detected mismatched data, and even after doing a simple uninstall and reinstall three times, the problem still persisted.

But after completely deleting the files off my computer, the mismatched data was finally wiped and the problem got fixed.

I'm sorry, I read everything you wrote, and I did try to follow your guide for Age of Wonders 4 and it did not work for me.

As I said, I cannot force a conflict, the saves are under a profile name that the game does not use anymore. Cannot overwrite the cloud saves because they are totally separate, not under the Public profile.

I do not know how to make this any clearer:

There is an old, unsupported profile.

It has taken up 1.6GB TWICE, actually, once in the Steam Cloud cache folder and another in the Larian Studios AppData folders.

I read what you said, but your method does not work here.

Which folders are these?

\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\USERID\1086940\remote

I wished Fallout 4 had this problem because yesterday i accidently deleted the wrong savegame because a mod bugged up my playthrough and in my rage.. i destroyed a week of progress. I would have praised Todd with a shrine and sacrifices if that save would have been recovered from the cloud :>

Not the PlayerProfiles, I mean you have to delete the ENTIRE Larian Studios folder. You'll get it back when you reinstall the game, as Steam will create a new one for you, but it won't have any of the old data saved into it.

Also, don't forget to wipe your Recycle Bin, just to be extra safe.

I do not know what the user data stuff is. I'm pretty sure I didn't touch any of that, so I would not suggest messing with it.

Since the game is currently not on my computer right now, I don't know the exact location of where to find the files. But the AppData Local seems to be right. Delete the Larian Studios folder there, then run a file search on your computer for anything labeled as either Baldur's Gate 3, or Larian Studios and delete those folders as well.

Ahh ok, no, that won't solve this.

I am offering you the answer you requested. I could care less if you use it or not. Ignorance notwithstanding, your game and your files are your own problem. I solved mine using the method I just gave you. I owe you nothing further.

"couldn't care less". Grammar 101. (if you "could care less" then obviously you care even a tiny amount, simple logic)

Thanks, but no, I'm trying to get rid of my cloud saves from the very first Early Access release.
