Thought's on your first run build and party?

I would love for people to share some of the builds they are planning as well as their party! My current plan is to be a Drow lore Bard (somewhat caster focused, maybe with a dip into warlock for agonizing blast), and bring along Gale for an aoe caster, Karlach for some melee and Halsin cause he's hot (might use him as a tank or keep him more as a second healer). I really would like to add Shadowheart over Gale but I am not sure she can fill the blaster caster role as effectively unless I re-class her. Thoughts?

I highly suspect that my first run is going to be dependent on hirelings. Due in large part to the fact I'm probably gonna play like a sociopath and not give a ♥♥♥♥ about offending the other Origin party members.

Depending on whether or not we can change the Origin's ability scores at character creation instead of by paying for a respec system, I might make Astarion into an assassin. If not, then I guess I'm locked into making him an Arcane Trickster.

-> Tav (fighter eldritch knight/ wizard abjurator)
-> Minsc
-> Jaheira
-> Shadowheart

But to begin with (as Jaheira and Minsc are available later in the game) i will do with:
-> Laezel (replaced by Minsc later)
-> Wyll (replaced by Halsin, then Jaheira later)

Moon druid for myself, shafowheart as a healer/locksmith because I hate astarion and I'll likely give her a bow over her mace. Gale for are, and then wyll because I want him in the party.

Honestly a large part of it comes down to them being the more good aligned characters in EA. I know they all have some dark background but they all react favourably to helping people.

I'm toying with the idea of a "nature" based spooky but neutral party - spore druid, fey warlock, gloom stalker ranger, totem barbarian. It's always more fun to play a bit more shades of grey than full on good or evil.

id recommend keeping Wyll so you have a face character

Yeah i thought about it but i think i will do without. I will buff my char as hell to succeed CHA checks.
I will have 3 caster in my team and "enhanced spell" is one of my favorite.
Edit: Also i intend to romance either Shadowheart or Jaheira (or both?) i will discover if Jaheira is, indeed, not romanceable.

BF and I will be playing together first and I'll be playing a spore druid and he'll be playing a Paladin. Might go wood elf, but we'll see.

For my Solo Playthrough my first choice will be Fey Warlock. And my Team will be Halsin, Shadowheart and Gale. Full range Team having Gale run as probably Abjuration or something, not sure. Halsin as Land druid and Shadowheart will remain as is. I'll combo spells like spike growth with repelling blast and really abuse Elemental arrows and terrain.

I frankly cant decide. Time will tell. Companions I'll just bring them all along and add and remove them from the party when I feel like.

Thankfully there's respec, so I don't have to restart to reroll my class.

Don't know about companions, but i will play Bardlock(lvl 8 warlock/lvl 4 bard).
