You very likely can do both, but then again, BG3 is developed from the ground up as a game where you can never see all content in a single playthrough, so I would strongly advise not doing both optional paths in the same playthrough, but to rather do just the one so you can keep the other one fresh for your second run.
I disagree. There's so many permutations with what can happen with events that missing any area on a single playthrough means you miss out on unique story.
And Underdark is optional you can take 3 differen routes to Moonrise towers. Though in reality most of us will try to explore everything.
I will do both ... because of crispy EXP :P
We don't know, because EA cuts off before you actually make it to Moonrise. But both paths lead to the same goal. I don't see why you would want to double back after taking one path to Moonrise, unless you're just a completionist, or really desperate to squeeze out as much XP as you can.
That doesn't make sense. I thought the devs told us that at Full Release, act 1 would have roughly 30% more content added to it.
Also, we know the game will consist of 3 acts, and there are 3 major antagonists. So it seems logical that Ketheric would be the villain of Act 1, then Orin and Gortash taking up the roles for acts 2 and 3?
How do you know the Shadowlands is Act 2? If true, if you pick the route to get to the Moonrise Towers by using the Shadowlands route, you will lose out on a lot of area in Act 1 in the Underdark. It's a pretty large area. And we know for sure the Under Dark is in Act 1.
I am not very knowledgeable of D&D and all the areas of the world in it. But are you just guessing the Shadowlands is Act 2 or have some official info it is? And we also know Act 2 is the largest Act. Larian said so. Which means it is huge, considering what we all ready know of Act 1.
