If still happening add "--skip-launcher" to the properties. That will bypass the launcher and might show the launcher rather than the game has an issue.
The only solution I found was to do a complete reinstall. All 7-8 hours worth of it...
But simply uninstalling the game from Steam won't fix the data. You need to go in and manually delete your BG3 folders from your computer.
And just to be extra safe, you might also need to delete your Larian launcher file and redownload that with BG3.
In fairness though, uninstalling the game isn't that big of a concern. Even the developers themselves are encouraging people to do exactly that, in preparation for full release, because of how much the game will be getting overhauled from EA.
