If you want 10 minute load times (every time you start the game or die), then you're free to use an HDD; the devs just heavily discourage it because that sounds miserable.
No way I can free up that much space without having to uninstall around 30+ games.. or just ARK lmao

They should seriously consider reducing quality in some areas that are less dependant on it as to lower it as much as possible. 150gb on an SSD is asking a lot.
If they have 4k res textures by default they should make those 2k then add an optional DLC which switches it to 4k when installed and activated.
Perhaps originally, but didn't they say they found a way to compress the game down to smaller file sizes a few major patches ago?
