Anyone know what started the blood war between devils and demons and what the current state of that war is ? Ive tried looking it up online but everything seems like a mess .

Not really. That would defeat the purpose of punishing the souls sent there. It's essentially a penal army.

Because it's always being invaded, since the dawn of creation and it will be invaded until creation ends.

That would be Demogorgon, the two headed tentacle baboon. He's currently revered as the most powerful of all demons.

Though officially speaking, demons have no legitimately recognized hierarchy. They are the physical embodiment of Chaotic Evil, and as such, their leaders only maintain their positions for as long as they have the ability to defend them.

Pale Night is an Obyrith, and I'm not sure who the hell 'mama chaos' is referring to?

As one of the oldest of the obyrith lords, the Queen of Chaos was said to have created Demogorgon as the first of all tanar'ri, then discarded him when he grew too unruly. The Queen was the lover of Miska the Wolf-Spider, and was the mistress of the spyder-fiends. She was once allied with Bwimb.

The Queen of Chaos had many enemies, including Obox-ob, whom she dethroned, and the Wind Dukes of Aaqa.

Avernus (the first layer of hell) was originally a paradise meant to tempt mortals, then the demons got in through the River Styx and it became the new battlefield for the Blood War.

Asmodeus very rarely gets involved because it helps keep him in power.
Tiamat is hiding/trapped there, and depending on player choices may in fact get involved and take over, but nothing canon.

The gods and other Celestials generally don't get involved because it's evil fighting evil, Asmodeus won the legal case, and without the Devils the Demons would overrun everything.

The angel Zariel didn't like this, got involved and it went very badly for her. She is still currently an Archdevil and in charge as of BG3. The previous ruler, Bel, is presumably either dead or still pissed.

The hells in general, yeah. Avernus specifically, not always but definitely now.
