Does the Rangers race affect companions Animals Level 5?
Does anyone know if different races affect animal companions in the ranger Class at Level 5?
I want to give it a go if they do but I've logged 800 + hrs so not keen to grind to Level 5 just to check it out.

No dependance on character's stats.
But in the last patch Larian homebrewed broken OP animal companions which level up at 5, gaining a tons of stats and bonus skill.

After 5 lvl a bit too much imo. Not as warlock or barbarian OP, but still very strong.
Don't know what would be further, in release, but BM ranger is now a solid combat choice.
Just look at the video. Hp pools, damage and new abilities pets gain are quite good.

Probably better than the Tasha's update for beastmaster. Boar with beserk rage is rather fun.

they have script so kids love dogs and birds but hate Spiders was hoping that a Drow of lolth may get better Spider options or a Dwarf getting a better badger companion, Gnomes can ride them or get a centipede, something like that.
I'd prefer a locked type of animal companion that had personal traits rather than a list of critters to call upon, they make me feel more like a Disney princess than a Ranger.

Also was hoping for swam rangers to be in the final release.
