Wyll is an idiot.
Title. Wyll has no logical reason not to let Volo shove an ice pick into his brain. Sure, he says "I only have one eye" but all that means is he has an empty eye hole that provides easier access and no risk. I get for story reasons Wyll is making that choice, but all that means is for story reasons Wyll has been written as an idiot.

He has an empty eye hole and benefits from charisma, Volo Provides an eye that increases his charisma and reduces his already nonexistent intelligence, this is an absolute win for him, why must you torment me so Larian studios.

Omeluum Deal = You get no negative effects directly, but the tadpole becomes "stronger" (No Tadpole new dream as a result of this) and you get a new power for yourself only. He does however give you a ring of psionic protection (So you lose a ring slot in return, but that ring should sheild you from Psionic effects of the parasite and the elder brain if your are around one) kind of like the Auntie Ethel Whispering maks with protection from Evil and Good active (She cannot hurt you or control you and it skips all the fights/hazards)

"No Tadpole new dream"?
There's some kind of a dream sequence after the experiment when you rest at camp? Nothing happened on any of my playthroughs where I made the deal with him and never used the "Illithid" dialogue options or abilities.
And where did you gather the ring protects against an elder brain?

Sorry let me clear that up

*Omeluum indicates the ring was used to allow him to be shielded from the Elder Brain presence (So anything that uses Tadpoles should not be able to sense you including other illithids/True Souls via Telepathy and it should weaken the Tadpole influence i.e you lose access to abilities and most likely speech options.

*When you drink the potion Omelumm gives you and does his brain telepathy. The tadpole gets stronger it does NOT trigger a dream sequence via the potion or counts as using the Tadpole to level up to new dream sequence.

So i guess it only counts if you use the "power" that it gives you. I can confirm using that power will indeed trigger the dream sequences but not the act of drinking the potion.

Using the Tadpole too much lets you become a "true soul" and all the companions agree that using the parasite is bad idea (expect Astarion who is chaotic Evil).

Why would Astarion reject using the tadpole, if he knows it's being actively prevented from going through ceramorphosis?

The tadpole lets him survive in the sunlight, enter people's homes without an invitation, and he is not harmed by running water. Assuming that it may also protect him from being enthralled to his master like a normal spawn is supposed to be, it seems like keeping the tadpole around provides nothing but net positives for him.
if you have Astarion stand in the stream where you wake up after the Nautiloid or the stream by the owlbear cave he will take acid damage. One part of being a vampire that he didn't get away from, though he can cross it.

Even past the whole eye thing Wyll is still an idiot.. Hell all the companions are not very high in the brain department.. After playing the game in early access, seriously who on earth would want to party with people like that, that would get you killed in a millisecond..

He's a 'hero' type in epic fantasy. Looks normal to me.

Would be better if he were a paladin with zealous stupid behaviour :D

Would be better if they were normal and had no stupid behaviour at all..

Spontaneous emotional behaviour is not that bad for plot. And gives sometime interesting results.
But of course, if you're looking at the party as main character + 3 mercenaries, and want to control every step, then yes — most companion decisions might be anoying.
But try to look at it from the point of view when you all are equal members and it makes a lot more sense. Because your decisions could not be perfect from their point of view too.

I don't like most of current characters. But not because they are bad written or designed, but because they are not close to me personally or they are not the 'friends' I would like to see around.

Yes i am looking forward to randomly generated parties we were supposedly getting, i have no interest in any of the current companions stories and i wont be playing any of the companions myself, it defeats the purpose of D&D anyway.

When I edited the OP's comment,, it wasn't meant to be taken so seriously Jason lol. I was just showing rebellious fun, since I'm obviously on team Wyll.

Thank you though for confirming if he's really intelligent,, or just average, etc.
I'm sorry... I very much disagree that Wyll is an intellectual. He might be a lot of things but intellectual is not one of them, He really doesn't come off as a smart character at all.

Also speak your case why you think Wyll isn't intellectual at all.

IF you have the time of course.

The fact he genuinely believes a fiend was just going to release him from his soul contract because he asked for it. Anyone who has even a remotely passing knowledge of fiends already knows that is absolutely not going to happen.
kingsims 31. des. 2022 kl. 20.14
There are few ways that Wyll can get out from his contract.

1) Kill Mizora (He should retain all of his abilities provided by his patron, but won''t gain anything else after that i.e hes stuck at his warlock level until he finds a new patron).

2) Get Mizora to destroy the contract willingly or unwillingly. Which frees him from his bond. Doing it unwillingly might come back to bite him later on. It may not be possible to do it willingly unless Mizora becomes his lover or some other great deed wyll does for her.

3) Make a pact with a more powerful devil, and they can take over the contract by giving Wyll a special buff that allows him to kill his patron without his patron being able to counter it. Most likely via Raphael.

Knowing Wyll he will probably try option 1 or 2. Since hes at least not dumb enough to trust a devil again.

So do you also disagree when Jason's words about Wyll definitely not being a dumb dumb??
I dunno he doesn't come off as a smart man.. He makes pacts with demons, that in itself is really stupid..

No, that's not how it works. Warlocks are kind of like bargain bin, discount clerics. Their magic comes from a patron who is powerful enough to give out magical abilities, but not powerful enough to be a true deity.

Case and point, Dorn (the half orc Blackguard from BG Enhanced) loses all of his anti-paladin abilities after you kill his demon patron, unless you find him a new one. If he refuses to accept a new patron, he remains a Fighter for the rest of the game.

Also, killing Mizora anywhere outside of the Nine Hells will only banish her. If Wyll wants to permanently destroy her, he needs to kill Mizora while they are in Hell. Then he needs to figure out a way to escape with his life.
