Good rule of thumb, only use Friends on targets you don't think you will be seeing after using the spell.
If you get caught, you will be jailed or fine up to 1000gp. (Depends who you use it on)
As of now, if you are caught to talk your way out of it. So it's a never ending loop of,
1) Use Friends on social roll,
2) Beat Social Check,
3) Walk away,
4) Friends spell wears off,
5) Get caught/accused,
6)Try to talk your way out of it (social roll, use Friends).
@Everyone Thank you for confirming what should have been obvious. I appreciate it. I see that I have to be more discreet, and not cheese my way through social rolls. lol
It tells you that using Friends against people will be considered an inappropriate act and they'll dislike it.
read the spell description.
"Once the spell ends, the creature knows it was Charmed and might accuse the spellcaster."
this spell is good if you use it against someone that you dont see them again or you intend to kill them soon. so you try to get as much info as possible before killing it.
if the world allow any people cast charm spell without consequence, the world will be in chaos.
Read the spell description.
I would rule that using magic to convince somebody you're best friends, only to kill them afterward is undoubtedly an 'evil' course of action.
Really getting sick of all these rules lawyers demanding the game be made progressively harder, just because they lack the self control to avoid using these so called exploits.
It's because of them that we lost the art of 'Barrelmancy!'
