The devs thought it would be a good way to indicate to the player that he needs to rest at camp. But, it has been proven it was a bit dumb, or at least, give us the option to wash ourselves with a soap or something. But anyway, the UX/UI design people agrees that it is not a good idea, as gamer themselves, so I think it will be removed or we will have the option to rub our characters clean.
Dwarves: "Ah, another productive day of excavating precious gems and minerals located deep underground!"
Druids: "Ah, another productive day of traipsing around the wilderness, clad in nothing but leaves and bark, while I perform gardening and veterinarian services!"
Barbarian: "Most of us are too uneducated to even know how to read. What makes you think we would know anything about personal hygiene?"
