Rule Question: Magic Initiate: Warlock
Lv4 Feat

Magic Initiate: Warlock - The character gains a level one Warlock spell slot. They learn a single level one Warlock spell and two Warlock cantrips. They use their Charisma stat as their spellcasting modifier.

If I am a Cleric and I take this feat: Does Charisma modify my Cleric spells instead of Wisdom? Or is my Charisma stat only for the Warlock spells?

No. Cleric spells and cantrips would still be using wisdom. Only those warlock cantrips and spell would be using your charisma.

If you don't have a high charisma, you'd want to take cantrips and spells which don't rely on your spellcasting modifier. Say... blade ward, mage hand, or true strike as cantrip, and Armour of Agathys, Expeditious Retreat, or Hex as a spell. Hex typically being key.

I wouldn't say this is a great feat for a cleric. Hex is only good for attacks spells or weapons. Maybe if you are a TWF cleric or elf with a bow. Other spells (even if you have a high wisdom) really aren't that great considering you only get them at 4th. Even with hex... its concentration which clerics typically need for bless and other spells and it tends to go down quickly due to BG3s love of area/splash weapons. Maybe eldritch blast is worth it on a low-dex cleric with no other ranged option. However, If you just increase your wisdom by 2, you'd get... an extra spell memorized, +1 to wisdom saves, +1 to any ranged attack spells, +1 to the DC of your spell saves, +1 to healing spells, etc.

Dude all you need is the one eldritch blast for the warlock spell
That is all I ever use and I kick ass. Myrlock the Warlock can almost solo! Great to hit ratios when you get the different items that bless and the shield that gives the buff spells can't loose... Well unless the warlock on the opposing side pushes you off a cliff then you will end up curlled up in fetal position on a bloody rack sack like in boy scout camp after getting your pocket knife merit badge. That is with a -1 as you are a squishy squish and I shall call you my squishy mage.

Sourcerer , or Dragon Disciple would pair well with Warlock! Bard too if that is going to exist. I wish there would be a courtisian or "lady of the night knight. Or man of the night lol puff puff ***

I am just fooling around with some Cleric builds - right now a Bow Cleric. A bow is doing a lot more average damage than Sacred Flame and I am using 2x Light Weapons in the second slot (for the mobs running up to you). Normal Attack, Bonus Attack - you know the drill. Light Domain to get some fancy spells and Scorching Ray is one of them. Hex is helping a lot to get some single target burst damage, Radiance of the Dawn some nice AOE damage.

Cleric Wood Elf (Longbow Proficiency), Light Domain (Radiance of the Dawn, Scorching Ray)
Attributes: 8, 16, 14, 8, 16, 12
Background: Charlatan (no thief in the party)
Proficiencies: Sleight of Hands, Stealth, Insight, Medicine, Perception, Deception

Lv4 Magic Initiate: Warlock >> Hex, Blade Ward, True Strike

Does it work? Yes, very well if you realise that a Cleric can and will contribute to the damage in the group. A dead enemy dont do any damage :)
