I ask because there's an item in game you could rush towards that sets your Int to 18 no matter how low you put it in character creation. So if you want to optimize for EA you could dump int, go get it, and have better physical stats.
OR you can go full dex buld and use finesse weapons|bows.
Also game currently missing most important cantrips for EK so best advice - pass this archetype.
Im planning to make one whenever i convince my other friend to buy the game, a dualwield eldritch knight fighter with full dex, use magearmor so thats 13 + dex mod (and i think they add profeciency to armor? could be wrong, but i cant figure out why my level 3 tank ranger has 20 AC), and then make an eldritch knight, pick up firebolt and start every fight with creating a fire surface to dip my weapons in to buff the dualwield.
What more important you need green flame blade and booming blade to perform like EK. None of this cantrips currently in game.
but 5e doesnt have "dip" action which sets your weapons on fire, hence being able to have a portable fire to dip in is going to be helpful, especially with firebolt that now makes it, and SINCE it doesnt have chainmail it means you remain effective while using magearmor where you would be tankier with strength plate when that comes out.
Magearmor + 16 dex is 16 AC which is 1 higher than the strongest armor i have found, and the same as the strongest +1 armor i have found.
Funniest thing that's halfplate is most expensive medium armor in game and you can get it at start. Only full plate cost more.
Mage armor is for mages or warlocks.
Oh thats why i have 20 AC on the knight ranger, whatever.
once again you arent actually adressing the fact that you can set your weapons on fire from surfaces and the damage bonus that gives, and as you YOURSELF HAS SAID, there arent heavy armors in the game.
I figured this might work

Unless 16 con is a must?
Stil don't get how you have 20AC without buffs. Only possible combo is Plate+shield. Guess you mistaken somewere.
Nah that seems like a very solid setup, eldritch knights in 5e is often more about getting utility spells like shield, which isnt in the game yet.
Every 2 con gives +1 hp every level, so you are missing 4 hp at level 4, and will have i think 30 - 40, and if it really annoys you at that time you can get an ASI to increase Con or you can pick the feat "toughness" that gives 2 extra hp per level.
