Pathfinder 2 does look interesting though.
Money talks though. D:OS2 was very successful, this will probably be as well. It's as simple as that. They don't really care about the franchise, they care about making a successful game. They used the Baldur's Gate name to boost hype, nothing more. In the end, they will use their own formula which has been shown to sell and that's what ultimately matters.

dooode - its called BG3... It literally can't be more of a sequel than that... why didn't they call it 'whatever whatever' keep it in the same lore and area and try to get a bit off the hype horse and milk this game ruining a beloved series in the process?
