Hey all! Happy to announce competitive multiplayer is now available for testing. You can enter the queue from the home screen, when a match is found a dialog box will take you to the lobby. Once both players are in the lobby the game will start.

Competitive multiplayer has a few special rules that were designed to: 1) limit the advantage provided by using a Scrabble word finder, 2) encourage players to play in the same parts of the board, and 3) limit distractions from existing free play features.

These special rules & features:

• A list of suggested words (based on the contents of your tray) is displayed, and cycles every few seconds.
  
• Temporary bonus squares are generated at random when high-scoring moves are made. These bonus squares have new types and will appear in the vicinity of the generating move. They last for a limited number of moves, so you will need to act fast.
  
• Tiles can not be swapped for gold, this was done to limit the benefit of having amassed a lot of gold.
  
• An abridged leaderboard for the game is displayed to the side, and quests are not available.
  
• Extra stat tracking, full leaderboards for which are available from the home screen.

Unfortunately, due to the number of concurrent players at any point in time, the probability of finding a match is super low. I'd encourage people to coordinate and queue up at the same time, until (if ever) this game becomes more popular. :|
