[42.02] Chickens of Doom
I have a problem. I was taking a walk outside and crafting in my little workshop when suddenly my fps dropped to below 20. First i was confused but after fighting the fps i figured out, my chicken coop was going insane.
I managed to take a screenshot. Chickens of Doom

I guess my savefile is corrupted now? To bad, i have been working so hard on this character so far.

Update: Speed up time is a bad idea. It makes them all lay eggs and crashing my game.

the same with me, the savegame is no longer playable.
I spawned 800 truths overnight, after 5 minutes it was over, the savegame could no longer be loaded, after 30 minutes of loading I cancelled it

i can't report much, i went to sleep and the next day they were there with the lag
i had the chicken duplication happen to me when i was sleeping. i had brought home a female adult rhodey and a female chick rhodey. i fast forwarded my game while sleeping then it got super slow. took about half an hour real time to wake up in game. i came out to hundreds. i heard the duplications are caused by fast forwarding the game in actions. but idk anything about code and this is something i read somewhere.
Dang I just had a thousand pigs pop up inside my base that I've been working hard AF on and I am new to PC and have no clue how to fix. Is my game just done for lol this sucks, I understand it's unstable but holy crap lol. Plz god be a way to fix it 🙏. I had killed a pig where they all started popping up from and I had went to bed around 9pm and 3am was woken up and my PC was barely able to run due to the un holy amount of large black pigs flying up out of the ground!!! They are freaking everywhere!!!!
had the same problem with my chicken farm at my base... after a lootrun i coudnt get back to it, so using the debugging method was not possible.
solved this by deleting the largest file in the APOP folder of the savegame.
that 3.7 MB large file was a bit of an outlier between all those 5-200 KB large files
Go to your User/Zomboid/Saves/SaveFile folder, then to the apop folder. Find the one file that'll be way bigger than the other files (Like 2000-5000kb instead of 1-30kb) and delete that file.

That'll let you back into your game, but will nuke every animal on that tile. If you want to 'fix' it, perhaps open up debug and spawn back whatever "important" animals you had.

Chickens, Rabbits, Mice... All the fast breeding animals will kill your game eventually. Stick to cows/sheep if you can for now.
