[42.2.0] Item context menu freezes the game
Item context menu freezes the game when there are many items around.

At my crafting spot I cannot right click items cause that freezes the game for few seconds. Previous version did not have this problem.

This has been fixed, yes. There is a limit to when it starts reducing performance, but it should be either in comparison with how Build 41 was, or better.

The main issue is this was freezing the game for upwards of 10-15 seconds, and what's been fixed and improved with Build 42.4.0.

Can confirm this, triggering the context menu on the majority of items in either the player's inventory or in containers causes the game to freeze for a moment - sound continues uninterrupted. The lag roughly scales with the number of items in the vicinity.

This happens with most items regardless if they're food/food-containers and have the recipe option available, clothes with cutting option, or none of those. The only items I found so far that are unaffected are fluid containers like water bottles or milk. Not sure what makes them 'special'.

I played with mods so far, but loaded the save without, too and had the same issue, albeit with a lessened effect. With mods I had the lag resulting in a framedrop to about 30 from 60fps. Without mod it dropped to 40-45fps for that moment. With a framerate of 240fps it dropped to 180fps, so in both cases about 75%, or I guess about 250ms lag, with mods about half a second lag.

Up until yesterday, playing 42.0, 42.1, 42.1.1, this issue was nonexistent, there was zero noticable lag - with mods. So I'm pretty sure that some change introduced in 42.2 is responsible.

Same issue, it was running fine pre-version 42.2. I also noticed that it also happen when you open the crafting menu. It seem to scan/update at short intervals causing micro freezes, more noticeable if you move around with the menu open.
I am experiencing the same issue. Hoping for a fix as it kinda disrupts the flow of the game.

1000 bullets & nails cause delay
If it's not
If you have a variety of items
Right-click causes significant lag What the hell is going on?

Always been like this. I think java is trying to count every nail and bullet constantly. Goes with every other item as well as soon as it hits 4 digits

Thanks, we are looking into this.

Yes it does count every nail etc (it should not imo) but it was never THAT bad.

Happens to me only if i click one item, if i mark like 2 items and then rightclick its fast
[B42.2.0] Lag when right-click items in inventory
E.g.:

Create Roast:
Adding cooking ingredients causes lag of a few seconds.

Read Book:
Same.

yep. lag scales with number of items around or carried
All right-click interactions have a hitch. This hitch gets exponentially longer if you're standing next to containers with a lot of items in them.

I thought this was one of my mods causing this, so I will reserve judgement until we got some more data.

Well, I had no problems with that in the version prior to today's patch.

Yeah right. It happens 1 grid next to containers with lots of stuff.
This wasn't happening before...the last patch was ok. This one isn't.

Agreed. This was not a problem before 42.2
Starting today, my game crashes when I right-click on any item in the inventory :(

This lag makes the game unplayable for me, even for testing. I'll wait until the next patch.
