Crashed/frozen games cant be continued (loaded), saves cant be deleted
Started noticing it at 32.3 and it continues to 33 were I only played .6 and .7

System is win 7. Game verified, reinstalled, no probs with other games.

Very annoying cause you have to start all over again till the next time happening ... so game isnt playable any more ...

Well, no prob now that I Know - just felt very lonely and ignored 8-)

The short answer is "corrupted saves can't be restored, nor can they be prevented from becoming corrupt in the event of a crash, BSOD, or power outage." Instead, the goal becomes determining why your game crashed and fixing that.
That needs to be urgently adressed. I´m much more tolerant with build 33, but the issue is also in build 32 (at least .3) so I cant play at all ...
Before last week I took a break from zomboid for about 4+ weeks, so my games before may have been on 32.1 or .2. They were running flawless though. I didnt experience a single crash EVER ... even with a whole bunch of mods running, the worst were some red error boxes ...
Not much has changed on my side since then, so its the game.
Btw - whats BSOD please?
Corrupted saves are one thing, but undeleteable saves (if you dont deinstall the whole game and delete the whole tree) is another thing and has to be adressed too. Its a total no go to mess the OS up!

Crashes can happen for several reasons:
- alt + tabbing on certain hardware, but it's not something we can prevent (a long running problem with LWJGL, the same library MineCraft is built on, don't alt + tab);
Cant follow here. I usually dont alt+tab, only if there ARE probs and didnt before the crashes.
But I can do it abd the game doesnt crash. What doesnt work is F11.

- having the Steam overlay enabled on certain hardware (Steam's problemm, disable the overlay);
That wasnt a prob for me zomboid worked with overlay. But I did read about this before and so I disabled it a month+ ago, just to be on safe side.
- your display driver ceasing to respond (you should see a balloon popup in the lower right-hand corner of the screen or a dialog box pop up informing you of this; the solution is to update your drivers);
No balloons, no pop ups - as stated in other thread my drivers are all up to date - I see to this things. If theres an issue its with zomboid having probs with latest invidia drivers. If I recall right there were 2 updates last 4 weeks (GTX 970 - for other stats of PC see other thread).

- Other; having a console.txt of the crash could be helpful (note, this has to be the console.txt file after the crash, not after trying to load the save game -- they're located in %username%\zomboid). Any other information to describe what you were doing just prior to the lock up / crash can be invaluable.
Provided a log (yes was one of loading) so I know were to find them. As a moder (M2TW as ex.) I know (to a degree) how to read them. Theres nothing in them for me, but I will provide one (last 30 lines or so should be enough?) if I can get myself to play again ...
In fact I called it a crash several times, but in fact (also lengthy stated in other thread) it were but one ALL freezes, with me after a good waiting shutting down the frozen game (which might explain lack of something obvious in the log?).
As far as I can recall:
1. Black screen on loading save-game (32.3 save should have been from earlier build)
2. No prevoius Zs on loading the same game as above on second try, none ever outside, only some in rooms)
3. Frozen when opening a container (fridge os something) (32.3 mods were running)
4. Frozen when moving 9mm ammo from main inv. to backback or container. (32.3 only map-mods running south muldraugh, new denver, WD prison)
5. Frozen just on walking (32.3 - no mods enabled)
6. Frozen after awakening in morning, maybe opening door (but didnt) right click menue appearing (33.6 - map mods as above)
7. Frozen when picking up golf-club from container 33.6 - no mods)
8. Frozen - cant remember anything special (as above)
9. Frozen on opening a container, maybe marking something at vegeatble store muldraugh (33.7 - no mods)
10. Frozen when moving a plastic or waste bag from litter (? playing german version) container to inventory (33.7 - no mods)
11. Frozen when trying to pick-up a book-shelf in house in mudraugh (33.7 - map mods)

Abandoned all hope 8-)

However, I should note that your issue appears to be singular. Build 32.30 has been known as stable aside from the top three issues since August. It may be difficult to find out just why this is happening to you.

Well, lets try and other posts about reapearing and undeletable save-games doesnt make this look to me sooo singular.

The red boxes were never game breaking, those errors were all related to hydrocraft mod (thats why I know alt+tab did no crashes to me, cause I checked them this way from time to time). Despite map mods I only did run cremate corpses and for a short while moveable furniture (it disappointed me deleted it).
As you can see from above I had freezes with only map-mods (shouldnt interfere with inventory and core game play? the more I start in default places and rarely even see these areas) or no mods at all.

The inability to delete saves was fixed in build 33.4, as far as we're aware.

I actually have 3 games on my pc that cant be deleted, not ingame, not with explorer (win 7), They are from 33.6 and 33.7

What is F11 meant to do? If it's meant to trigger full screen (like in a browser), that's a feature of individual programs, not a universal action built into the OS.
It claims to bring the lua-debugger and it seems a default-key, cause I didnt touch it. Know your game!?

Check that the overlay is disabled regardless. When switching branches or updating the game, Steam often turns it back on.
It is disabled and steam never changed this for me, not in zomboid, not in any other game.

Drivers can still be incorrect even if they're reported as up to date; double check the version numbers against the individual downloads on nVidia's support site. Tools that do this for you often get it wrong, or if you're on Windows 7/8/10, they can be replaced with drivers from Windows Update -- these are often reported as up to date by manufacture's tools, but aren't necessarily feature complete.
Sorry, its a GTX 960, for unknown reasons I tend to write 970 frequently 8-)
I use nvidia experience, according to it and win hardware manager, the driver is up to date 01. Dez. 2015 359.06 last checked 11. 12. 2015.
Motherboard, chips, even bios im on latest versions.

There've been no reports of the game crashing when interacting with the inventory, as seems to be the theme of your examples, while being unable to delete saves is a separate issue and (should have been) addressed. There are several reasons this could be: the game might be able to find or play the sound associated with interacting with the inventory, the item may have incompatible settings/textures if it's a mod, or the game is for some reason having issues with the textures present. Either way, it should show up in the console when it happens.
Well maybe there is a possibility here ...
There is a new texture? Partly destroyed houses? Those textures are full of glitches for me - as if parts are missing.

If you can reproduce the lock up, after having killed the game's process, go to %username%\zomboid\ and grab the contents of console.txt Uplaod the whole thing to pastebin.com and link it here. Having the last few lines probably won't be useful, we'll need the whole thing. If it is too long, send it to support@theindiestone.com
Will try to, but hope I wont. Still loving this game and started another one yesterday, intended to produce a freeze, but was sucked in instantly (lets just play for a while) and hope there will be no crash 8-)

Well as an itroduction, thank you EnigmaGrey for paying attention to this and give the support like it should be.
I´m glad that this is the case and my confidence in the Zomboid crew is anewed.

Constant stream is too much, on lengthy game sessions there were the occasional red boxes, which I hadnt before Hydrocraft and cremate corpses.

If you cannot delete the saves via Explorer, something is wrong with your OS or another program is accessing those files, preventing you from doing so (such as an antivirus, indexing .etc). It's hard to know without the error. I just tried deleting old saves, in game, with build 33.7 and it's working fine.
My OS should be fine. Its a relativly fresj install on new pc from late June. Windows says all is fine. I dont have any issues. No other game but zomboid shows these symptoms. I even experimented with other games (those I know how to trigger a crash), Warhammer, M2TW, Banished and everything is fine crashed saves can be deleted.
Well I can paint my files pink if I like 8-) ... but not the Zomboid ones!
Your try with 33.7 proves nothing if the files werent from CRASHED games. I can delete every normal save fine. The CRASHED ones seem to be corupted in a way even the OS can no longer handle them at least as long as ZOMBOID is present. See above: uninstalling Zomboid enables deleting the corrupted files - so dont tell me: Its the OS.

Looks like your drivers are up to date. Good. You may want to consider disabling the advanced features of nVidida Experience, however, as it's not yet been made compatible with Project Zomboid. You can see a list of compatible games here: http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/supported-games
Not shure what advanced features you mean, couldt find much in nV opt., but I found that I had 0 supported games, so I guess thats not the issue. Did a search now and there are 17 supported games now, didnt change any settings, Zomboid (as you told) is not in that list.

So several minutes ago I continued my game only to find it freezing shortly after.
I moved the following items from equipped ?seasack/seaman-bag? into a nearly empty bookshelf: 1. hammer, a whiskey bottle, severall shotgun shells and zigarettes. Tried to do same with a ?pincer? (Pinzette in german) when it froze, showing the 2 inventory boxes and a info pop up for the pincer.

Save game cant be deleted. Dont worry the following log (next post) was secured by me before trying that.

Its relativly short and I shortened it more, can provide the full if there is a need.

Theres not much here for me I could read out of this. As far as I can recall most of that "require - failed" stuff was always there and is probably cause of not yet fully implemented or disabled features?
