Can't host game, just gets stuck on "loading world".
I've tried to delete word, validate files on Steam. Doesn't help.

same here, almost an hour searching the web and still no useful results. would appreciate any help. connecting easily to friends' servers though
no mods installed etc

So I managed to fix this by doing the following:

1.
In the server options/settings go to UPnP and disable it. See if that solves the issue. If not move to the next step.

2.
Went to C:\Users\XusernameX\Zomboid\Server and deleted all files in folder
Went to C:\Users\XusernameX\Zomboid\Saves\Multiplayer and deleted all folders there.

Keep in mind that step 2 will zero out everything. So you'll need to do the complete setup again.

Hopefully that works for you guys too.

I was having the same problem, fixed by deleting some files (always make a backup before starting deleting things)

First, go to C:\Users\YourUsername\Zomboid\Saves\Multiplayer\
Then I tried deleting all chunks_xx_xx.bin files, didn't worked.
Then I deleted all the map_xxxx_xxxx.bin files, plus a lot of other files that were in this folder, here's a link to all the files that I deleted: https://pastebin.com/B3UKsrbM

After that I joined the map and still had my stuff

Fixed - not sure what exactly helped - but I guess was an UPnP feature.

ok, so that fixes windows, but what about mac? I don't know which files to look for because the way mac names it's files is quite different than the name of windows files

I'm having trouble finding UPnP I might be blind or looking in the wrong spot in server settings. Is it located in the edit server menu after pressing host/manage setting and if so what tab would it be under?

Disabling UPnP and deleting the mentioned folders, and raising the storage thing in the server setup worked thanks guys
