External Address Null
Hey! My server was working fine for days, but now it suddently stopped working. I've changed nothing, except some server settings (amount of zombies, need for sleep, etc.).

My ports have been forwarded, and I have a static connection. This worked great, I had multiple people on my server with no issues. Now suddenly today it just stopped working. Here is my .bat file.

Forwarded ports include 16261 UPD, 16262-16272 TCP.

I had this mod installed when we played for a few days, last time was yesterday.

I changed some of the server settings when it comes to zombie populations.

They get an error saying connection failed.

EDIT: The external IP is null error is new as well. Last time it didn't say that.

The external address being reported as null isn't an error. It only indicates that the game didn't find a UPnP router to get the external address from. From the server log, it looks like you aren't using UPnP.

I was on when I first tried to host the server today, but I turned it off because I found something on another thread saying that I should turn it off.

I turned it off in the servers .ini file I think

You'll also need to forward SteamPort1 if you disable UPnP.

Ok, I turned it back on.

What is the lotheaders error?

I turned upnp off and opened that port, but it still says null and it didn't say that before, but if I understand you correctly it doesn't matter?

If you don't have a UPnP router, or UPnP=false in the server settings, it isn't possible for the game to know what your external IP address is, so it reports it as null. It isn't an error.

Failed connection to TCP download port 16263

That's an error one of my friends got.

I think I do have a UPnP router, it wasn't null before.

Or to be precise, it was null before I remembered that I reinstalled my windows and didn't set up a static route. This happened a few days ago.

Then I created a static route on my pc using the same IP that I had set in my router, and turned the router firewall off, and it started working.

But today, as I turned my PC on, the address was reported as null again, and people couldn't join.

Also, not sure if it's connected to this, but for some reason, I think my PC turned from a known device, into an unknown device in my router. The IP on it is the static one etc, and I can just rename the device as my desktop, but something has changed, and I don't know what it is, since I havent' actually changed anything.

Also, when I try to start a dedicated server, it gets some sort of an ID fail, and just shuts down.

Ok, so I removed the static route from my ruoter, and from my PC. I also removed all opened ports in my router.

Could I get a step by step guide in how to host a game with the new system, and what opened ports I need, and also anysettings I need to tweak?

My router is a Zyxel VMG3326-D20A

I started from the very beginning.

I created a new static IP, 192.168.10.5. I made sure the routers random IP range does not include this one. I enabled UPnP in the router, which was not enabled.

I will first try to have someone connect to me without forwarding ports.

Then I will try to forward the ports given in the previous post and see if that works if the first attempt fails.

Don't I need to open ports for the people who are joining as well? For example if the starting port is 16261, then I need to open one port per every new player that joins?
