I changed some of the server settings when it comes to zombie populations.
They get an error saying connection failed.
EDIT: The external IP is null error is new as well. Last time it didn't say that.
I turned it off in the servers .ini file I think
Ok, I turned it back on.
What is the lotheaders error?
That's an error one of my friends got.
Or to be precise, it was null before I remembered that I reinstalled my windows and didn't set up a static route. This happened a few days ago.
Then I created a static route on my pc using the same IP that I had set in my router, and turned the router firewall off, and it started working.
But today, as I turned my PC on, the address was reported as null again, and people couldn't join.
Also, not sure if it's connected to this, but for some reason, I think my PC turned from a known device, into an unknown device in my router. The IP on it is the static one etc, and I can just rename the device as my desktop, but something has changed, and I don't know what it is, since I havent' actually changed anything.
Also, when I try to start a dedicated server, it gets some sort of an ID fail, and just shuts down.
Could I get a step by step guide in how to host a game with the new system, and what opened ports I need, and also anysettings I need to tweak?
My router is a Zyxel VMG3326-D20A
I created a new static IP, 192.168.10.5. I made sure the routers random IP range does not include this one. I enabled UPnP in the router, which was not enabled.
I will first try to have someone connect to me without forwarding ports.
Then I will try to forward the ports given in the previous post and see if that works if the first attempt fails.
Don't I need to open ports for the people who are joining as well? For example if the starting port is 16261, then I need to open one port per every new player that joins?
