More Negative Traits & Addiction Overhaul
A big part of zomboid for me is just making characters. I love trying to make characters resembling friends/family or just making very in depth characters. More traits allows one to create interesting characters. Here are some ideas for some negative traits that I had grouped by different categories.

Mental Illnesses:
Depression (+6): More prone to becoming sad. Sometimes the player will randomly become sad for seemingly no reason. Has a faster rate of becoming depressed once sad. Once the depressed moodle is reached, it is harder to remove it than normal.

Anxiety (+6): More prone to becoming anxious. Sometimes the player will randomly become anxious for seemingly no reason. Has a faster rate of becoming panicked. Harder to remove panicked once reached.

ADHD (+2): More prone to becoming bored. Is fast at learning new skills but slower at learning skills they are experienced with.
Add in adderall/stimulant as a medication which gives increased skill xp gains but leads to a higher rate of anxiety

Narcissistic (+2): Skill levels displayed are higher than the actual value. Health is also displayed higher than the actual value. Will not say if bitten.

OCD (+3): Takes longer to do certain specific actions. Essentially this pulls from a list of actions at the beginning of the game. It will randomly pick this action and for the rest of the game it will take the character longer to carry out this action.

PTSD (+8): Will sometimes reach a state of extreme panic. Will hear/see things that aren't really there during this time. Character may uncontrollably scream.

Schizophrenic (+5): Will hear voices or occasionally see things that aren’t really there.

Dementia (+10): Will forget skills and lose xp over time if the character doesn't use it.

Addictions:
Expansion to addiction → All addictions are adaptive traits. Possible to become addicted to a substance if used too much. Once the player goes through all of the withdrawal symptoms then they gain a trait to be recovering from that addiction. It is then more likely for them to become addicted to that substance again if they are recovering from the addiction.

Coffee Addict (+4): Needs that hit of coffee to get them moving in the morning. Becomes anxious and sad without coffee for 18-24 hours.

Alcoholic (+8): It's 5 o'clock somewhere! Player is always in the mood for a(n) (alcoholic) drink. Needs alcohol every 8 or so hours. Without alcohol they become anxious, then sad, then depressed. If too much time has passed there's a chance that they could die. If they survive all of the withdrawal symptoms then they become a recovering alcoholic.

Recovering Alcoholic (+2): no longer feels the need to constantly drink alcohol. However drinking too much alcohol could make them an alcoholic again.

Pill popper (+6): Has a high chance of becoming addicted to pills once used. This works for antidepressants, painkillers, sleeping pills, beta blockers. Once addicted to a specific type of pill they become anxious and sad without it. Possible to stop the addiction but must go through all withdrawal symptoms first. Takes 1-2 months?

Recovering (pill) popper (+2): this can only be obtained from the pill popper trait.

Addictive Personality (+5): More prone to getting addicted to substances.

Injuries:
Broken Leg (+5): start the game with a broken leg and a splint.

Broken Arm (+5): start the game with a broken arm.

Diets:
Pescatarian (+2): Character will become sad if they eat any meat other than fish.

Vegetarian (+3): Character will become sad if they eat any kind of meat.

Vegan (+5): Character will become sad if they eat any meat or dairy.

Allergies:
Fall/spring/summer/winter Allergies (+5): Character will occasionally sneeze or cough during the fall/spring/summer/winter.

Lactose Intolerant (+2): Will get an upset stomach/feel sick after eating/drinking any dairy product.
Add lactaid to negate the allergy which lasts for 30 mins per usage.

Gluten Intolerant (+3): Will get an upset stomach/feel sick after eating any bread/wheat product.

Sun sensitivity (+4): Feels pain if in the sun for too long.

Other Quirks:
Germaphobe (+4): Will get anxious when the player is dirty or bloody.

Insomniac (+6): Has trouble falling and staying asleep. (Cannot be wakeful)

Far-sighted (+4): Blurry around a short radius of the character. (Cannot be near-sighted)

Forgetful (+4): forgets new recipes from magazines if not used in a certain amount of time (12 hours)

Introvert (+3): gets anxious if around groups of people (4+) for too long. Will get anxious around new people as well.

Extrovert (+3): gets anxious if not around other people for too long.

Nyctophobia (+5): gets stressed out if in the dark
Use lights, flashlights, etc to minimize it.

The points are all just "guesstimates" or a basic idea for what they could be. I'd love to hear your thoughts on these. Some of these ideas I got from other mods/threads but I tried not to rip too many of those.
