Died to a tree scratch?

Wow really stupid... just walking through woods not running, just walking... and scrap a branch/tree and kills you in 20 secs in game? Dumb just dumb. I have never been walking through woods and die from tree scratch, who dies from a tree scrap/scratch IRL? lol... dumbest mechanic I have ever seen in a video game in my life.

Kills you in only 20 seconds...Did you bandage it? If you don't have bandages, you can tear up articles of clothing to make ripped sheet bandages (I start with my shirt). If you didn't bandage it, you might have bled to death. Though, I'm not sure a scratch is that lethal. Was it a more severe wound of some kind, or literally just a scratch? Did you have a full health bar, or did you take a lot of damage beforehand and thus didn't have the health to deal with it?

I died the same way too. Just walking or even sneaking through the woods. I caught a scratch from a tree which caused a laceration. I bandaged the scratch with clean ripped sheet bandages. Then it seemed to be OK but after a few minutes, I was losing more and more health. I even tried to disinfect the wound, bandaged new and ate a bunch of healthy stuff but it had no use and I died after a few minutes. This is ridiculous. The scratch was at the upper, inner thigh, but no tree can cause such a lethal scratch, even at this critical spot. It was not the first time I died from a scratch. If the scratch was a deep cut, it would be more reasonable, but not from a tree.

Hopefully in the future minor damage like this won't be too harmful even if untreated, perhaps a Tourniquet could be used to help stop bleeding even more with arm or leg movement debuffs?

Funny, I quit game after this happened and made this post. I began playing again a couple weeks ago. Either way I remember this happening and it caused bit of rage because it ended my game and at time a character that had been alive a few months.

I read in another post, that deinstalling and reinstalling fixes the problem. I did and it realy seems to work fine now. No more fast dying from scratches anymore.
