Sanity?
Within 20 days an electreician has killed 952 people in his hometown and scrubbed their blood from his living room floor. I know there is depression in the game, but that seems to only be a mild inconvenience rather than the horrific infliction that it is. It would be nice if there was some kind of sanity system in the game which came with much worse consequences. for example our character could uncontrollably start shouting/talking to himself and attracting zombies, being unable to control his actions for short periods, hallucinations of zombies and maybe when NPC's are implemented, an inability to distinguish between zombies and NPC's or maybe other players in MP.
Not really sure how you could manage this or how it would function, maybe it could be an additional stage of depression that developed if you kill too many zombies too quickly while depressed?

What do you all think of a sanity system?
oh and feel free to remind me that its just a game.

Whole psychological concept in a game where you basically have to shove food down the toon's throat so that he won't starve is stupid to begin with.
Either you control him or you just go full Rimworld and just give orders and watch him doing sh*t on his own - there psychologics are fine, otherwise is a** and frustration.

My opinion is all psychological aspects should be option like nutrition is now - like this then enable, don't - disable.
With option like this those how like to have more handicapped toons can have them and those who don't - don't.

I'm not a fan of sanity in sandbox games. Story driven games seem to do it particularly well, as hallucinations, loss of control, etc. can all be used to further drive the plot through cutscenes. However, in sandbox games, these very things tend to restrict what makes sandboxes so appealing: freedom. At best, they are done well and something I wouldn't like at all. At worst, they feel gimmicky and become a nuisance during gameplay.
i don't think it would be terrible if it was optional. but for me this game is too sims like already, i want more features that add action to the game and less taking care of a digital form of my self

I really doubt they will ever go into the realm of full blown insanity, but depression will likely become a more prominent feature in the game later on, probably after NPC's are released. So basically, it'll be a while before they get around to fine tuning the mental aspects of character development.

I think that would make the game way more interesting doing this, that's such a great idea!

You can always pretend that your toon is blind and deaf and turn monitor + speakers of if you want to make the game interesting...

Psychological stuff is ok in games like Rimworld where you only give orders to a giant antfarm, it fits those kind of games perfectly. In a game when you control 100% actions of your avatar it's not only annoying but stupid, annoying and always done wrong.
