Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

i can't load into my server
i can make a server just fine but once i'm done creating my character and hit "start" it just sends me into the main menu, no error notifications, nothing
afterwards in the host menu i have the option to delete the world, no option to delete the character and trying to reboot the existing server has the same results - character creation, then sends me back

Can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid?
You can use any file-sharing website of your choice, or you can use our official link to share the file https://beard-theindiestone.fromsmash.com/request/OQzxAk6MFK-dd
After that, can you share the link to the file here, so I can download it?

i tried doing a full sweep of both my user & game files, then reinstalled the game and tried making a server again - nothing changed, same issue
Looks like there is a world issue, can you delete the Saves/Multiplayer folder from the Zomboid folder?

If that doesnt help, can you join any random public servers?
deleted the folder, got the same problem again
i can join public servers and play on them though
I might suggest a full reinstall in that case, since I cannot pinpoint thes erver issue on your server.

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.
nope, didn't help
only extra bit of info i can give is when this happens the version text in the bottom right corner and the credits in the top right one all duplicate and go over eachother
Hm, could you share the logs again just to check for different errors or if I missed anything? Usually a reinstall might show different errors as well.
Interesting, this time it looks like it literally fails to log you into your own server. It does mention the queue system as well though.

Can you try going to the server settings and disable the "Login Queue" setting?
where do i find this setting? i can't find it ingame
Hm, yeah I do not see it either, and it looks to be disabled by default in the server file, so that might not have been the issue in this case.

Do you perhaps have any sort of antivirus installed? Or any other sort of security apps, or even anything claiming to be an "Internet Booser"? Some laptops can come preinstalled with that, I think ASUS does?
nope, don't have anything like that, none that i'm aware of
went through my installed apps and i've got nothing of that sort
Not sure I have many other suggestions at the moment, you could try hosting a dedicated server as a quick workaround? It works basically the same as the coop server, just takes a bit longer to set up.

Follow the "Install "Project Zomboid dedicated server" via SteamCMD" section.

And use the command app_update 380870 -beta unstable validate
