Player map data mismatch
I am playing with 3 friends on a server. Recently, we decided to change the host because the current host is less and less available for opening the server, making the 3 others constantly waiting. So the host has uploaded all server datas and files on a common file deposit storage. An another one of my friend has taken all files are has successfully made the server running without any problem, excepted one. While all datas like our skills, items, etc, are well transfered

The problem is map datas. The new host has got the previous host map datas + symbols/Draws, while on my side, i absolutly lost all my map datas, im forced to re-read maps items and revisiting places to remove the fog of war once more

After searching on the internet, all map datas are saved me these 2 files: map_visited.bin and map_symbols.bin

After the perfect transfert of all files and folders from the previous to the new host, we have found this problem that we probably cannot fix. So its a simple bug report for making it known for the dev team and the community

Map data is client sided, meaning the players need to move the two files you mentioned, map_visited.bin and map_symbols.bin from the old server save folder to the new server save folder.

Since the server was moved, a new IP was assigned to the server, and a new folder was created for the server for each client. You will need to move those files from the old server folder with the old IP to the new one.

Which part of it should I explain in further detail? I assumed you are aware of the save locations, since you already referred to the .bin files.

The map folders I was referring to are located on your PC in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid\Saves\Multiplayer

I think i "might" have understood. You are asking to the host to move the file correctly into the server file, and the map files should be put in every client folder host included ?

No, the host does not need to do anything, since as mentioned, the map progress is saved on each client connecting to the server, not the host.

The clients (you players) have to move those files from the old server save folder to the new one. Each player has the old save with their own map progress on their PC.

So every time we decide to change our host, we will have to flip files as client ?

Yes, if you want to keep your map exploration progress.
