Controller support no longer working?

I have currently just over 900 hours of gameplay and I mainly use an Xbox Series controller for my gameplay. However, I noticed today that the controller no longer works with games, I have uninstalled my mods, verified my cache and finally reinstalled the game. However, I am still having this issue, would anyone be able to provide me with some assistance as to why?

I have also taken a look at "Steam Big Picture" and the controller lay-out, and both work as should.

Is your controller enabled in the game Options > Controller section > Left side of the screen?

Hm, you mentioned that the controller no longer works with "games", does that include other games? And can you try launching the game through the Steam Big Picture mode?

I have attempted to launch in big picture mode and fortunately the controller works. Out of my current game collection, the only games not working with the controller are State of Decay 2 and Project Zomboid. I had the controller working earlier on PZ, upon relaunching I experienced the issue again, I didn't change any settings or files to resolve the issue temporarily.

The inventory screen is also stretched across the screen and bugging out when the controller issue appears. I'm not sure if i'm able to attach a screenshot here?

I assume the issue should not be present now if you launch it through the Big Picture mode right?

Problem is still persisting sadly.

Hm, I thought you said that "I have attempted to launch in big picture mode and fortunately the controller works"
Which I assumed to mean that the controller works now and there should be no issue.

You can try resetting your game settings by going to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid and deleting everything there except the "Saves" folder
