Build 41 now crashing?

I've over 3000hrs playing this on linux with many mods, worked great until yesterday. Tried different compatabilities and mostly crash to desktop. Some protons work, but poorly then a crash...whats up??????

Build 42 keeps shutting off my monitor and I have to do a hard shutdown. Seems like a memory leak to me. I can only play for 10-15 minutes each run. I was considering rolling back to 41 so I can play, so that's not good news!

I've tried quite a few fixes but nothing is working.

Have you used mods in B41?
Because some folks were reporting memory leak and other issues, but it turned out that it resolved itself when they added all their mods to a collection and then deleted the mods.
(It seems that B41 mods can affect negatively B42 experience.)

B42 definitely has memory leak because I have noticed that sometimes I play with 10gb RAM in use or even 15gb which is almost crashing me too because I got 16gb RAM in my PC, it's barely enough to play this game now which is really sad considering the update added so much new stuff but can't really enjoy anything because of the performance, the game stutters a lot now.

and I can confirm that this is indeed memory leak because pagefile in Windows normally doesn't grow in size and mine stays at about 2,5gb but in Project Zomboid easily gets over 10gb which is not the case in other games I play, only bad Minecraft modpacks do this that also have serious memory leaks.

I had an overwhelming amount of them with B41, but with 42 they were all disabled so I had none running. Takes about 10 minutes to load the game with the mods I have with B41. Very quck loading with B42.

I have 32GB RAM.
