Crashing when aiming with a gun, randomly (B42)
I've got a modded playthrough currently and currently I'm only experiencing random ctd when I aim a pistol/shotgun.

I don't have any particularly crazy mods (mostly clothes/gear). The most game altering mods I have are the bandits mod, knox event mod, and a b42 guns mod.

Anyone having similar experiences?


edit: so when it crashes, i can load up the save and aim the gun and it will crash again, leaving me with a single error entry in console.txt

At the launch of B42 any mod that affected the player or zombie skeletons caused the aim=crash issue.

So if you've got any character/zombie model mods enabled, I'd suggest disabling those first and see if it still happens.
Just tried it.

I left in knox event, Rains guns, bandits. Still happened but the error log was a lot longer. I might possibly have some remnant of mods from b41 maybe?

I think I might just wipe the install and the mod folder and try anew.
But I think you are correct still.

I've no idea what I could have to modify the skeleton but I'm reaffirming the idea of wiping it clean and starting fresh.
You could try to verify game files too. Some issues go away just by doing that.

Also I hope it ain't my gun mod lol.
Certianly is not lol.

Just checked my pz folder after a steam uninstall. Remnant files from a b41 build I had from a year ago. Wiped it clean. I'm almost certain this should resolve it and you described exactly what would cause the crash, lo and behold - the player mdl files that remained.

happening to me too, your not alone. happens with no mods as well its pretty annoying... :bricktherat:

I found out that the cause was a b41 version of brigets male and female body mods. They were in the core zomboid directory instead of the mods folders so they'd load as a default player model. They were the culprit. Its possible the same thing may be occurring for you.
