Stuck on "Getting Server Info" for both modded and vanilla servers
So a friend made a server and I tried connecting about 8 times and only ever got stuck at the "Getting Server Info" message. They tried resetting the server, re-hosting, everything they could, no dice.
Finally I tried looking for just a random public un-modded server to test my connection with...I've been stuck at "Getting Server Info" for the past 20 minutes. Something's definitely wrong with my ability to connect.

I do have perfectly good internet, and I've even played on servers before in the past, so I don't know what's up.

EDIT: I have now tried verifying file integrity in Steam....didn't help :(

Try the steam relay option yet? If not, try VPN yet? Anyway, PZ is notorious for its network support. The host need a business grade network to make sure everyone can connect.

Can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid?
You can use any file-sharing website of your choice or a temporary one like filetransfer.io for example.

PZ private servers are very bad, i was always having issues with a very good pc and very good internet, its hit or miss. sometimes its mods that cause the issue, sometimes its the other person having bad internet or a bad pc that causes problems.

Since you have some mods loaded, I suggest you go to “C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.

Then try connecting to any server again, this is to test if the mods were the cause of the issue.

Just tried that, and I still get stuck at "Getting Server Info", sadly

I just tried using the Steam relay option (both before and after deleting everything in my Zomboid folder except for "Saves") and no dice.

Can you try changing your Download region in Steam?
Steam > Settings > Downloads tab

Preferably change it to another country, such as any in the EU

I set it to "UK - Manchester" since the server I'm trying to connect to is hosted in the UK
Still stuck :(

What country are you connecting from? The US recently had this issue where changing the download region basically always fixed it, though you might need to experiment with more regions.

I'm connecting from the U.S.
I'll try different regions later today
